Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

EVERLAST - SIX - NO ANYTHING

She had taken refuge on the forgotten island as a way to be rid of all those who would seek to harm her. At the paws of Seline she had been a plaything, her misery the delight that had fueled the joy of the satanic female's children. Kronos had been especially difficult to handle, tracking her when Seline had not, and when they had finally left and she had broken free from the mental bonds placed upon one in such dire circumstances she had run. And she had kept running. It didn't matter that Tick Tock had offered her a place to go because she wasn't sure she would ever go back to the plains after her time in captivity there. Life had been ever cruel to Everlast; a reminder in the very form of the name given to her by her father. Ever last she would be, he had said, for he had not wanted her. A female was weak and while she was built stately she had succumbed to such words. Predisposed towards it from the moment she could understand.

It was strange, almost, the peace she had become accustomed to in the last few months. Slowly that fearful drive to look over her shoulder had become less frequent. Less apprehensive. Her tormentors were gone. She was - in truth - free. For the very first time in her life. Free from family obligations and groveling, free from capture, free from anything. In a sick sort of way she was almost glad Seline had found her beneath that tree after birthing the pups from a rape that had escalated all events. Maybe it was supposed to happen when the female had squished them between her teeth, despite the frenzied pleas of Everlast.

The sun presses hot against her long silky coat but she basks in it. The water of the lake beats against the grainy shore of the island, the grass taller than her prone figure spread out amongst it. She had decided this was an exceptionally good hiding spot. No wolves dared swim out here and she could catch fish, maybe a bird every now and again, and just bask in life. Until he shows up, of course, to ruin it.

She lies in a drowsy stupor, concealed from his view, lulled into complacency by her recent string of lucky. It is the sound of water splashing as he pulls from the water that jolts her attention, ears pricking and body tensing. She almost decides to stay cowered in the grass but this island is not so big and he would certainly run across her soon enough. So she slowly rises, sun glinting off her coat of a very soft gray mixed with her white markings. Steel gray eyes shift to him and her breath catches for a moment, the white of his fur making her think SELINE, RUN! But he is not Seline. He is large and beautiful but also dangerous - all are dangerous to her.

"You are interrupting my nap time," she says with a brave front, though inside she wants to scram but maybe it was time to stand up for herself. Maybe it was time to show the world she wouldn't be EverLAST forever.
