The gathering in Spirane had been both a curse and a blessing, depending on how one looked at it. For Halcyon, it had started out as a distraction but ended up being one of the most important days of his life. He had gone to clear his mind of the cloud of confusion that had fuddled it. The return home found his mind foggier than before. It was all because of her. Bastille. The golden goddess living on the mountain. His soul had been captured by her and it was hers to control however she wished. Though he was still too young to fully understand what it really meant to imprint, he knew that it was what had happened to his parents. Rhae and Iblis had been mates and imprints. And it was because of the bond they shared that when she died, his heart was not strong enough to continue without her and he died with her. It was because of this that Halcyon found himself secretly scared of his new found imprint. Did she have the same powers over him? Did he her? The thought sent a shiver down his spine as he entered his temporary home.

The russet wolf moved across the soggy swamps to his den. The winter thaw had made the area too wet and within a few moments his paws and legs were soaked. When he finally returned to the comfort of his den, a howl pierced the air. It was a summon to any who were interested that a training session was about to start. Halcyon pondered this a moment. He had thus far been rather successful in his training with Malum. Perhaps it would be good to learn a new skill too. Anything that could help him get stronger. With a shake of his fur, the pup turned his back on his den and trotted towards the area the howl had come from.

When he got there, he saw two wolves he had never met before. As he neared, he heard the younger of the two mention something about learning how to fight. Ears shot up in interested and he moved closer to sit next to the them. He bowed his head to the eldest wolf and greets the younger with a wag of his tail. ”Greetings. I’m Halcyon. Is it true this is a training session for fighting? If you would have me, I would like to join you.” He is far more formal and polite than most wolves are used to. But he remembered Iblis always telling him to be as such with new wolves. It often helped to reveal their true nature and allowed him to better understand them.
