He was covered in a cloak like his fathers. They were a dying breed. The maned wolf in general was. Yet, he, very few of his siblings out of the seven, and their father were unlike most maned wolves. Their rusty red color was not their, instead it was white as snow. Their eyes were oddly colored as well. One blue, one brown. No matter, the little youth had made his way away from the family.

He was the biggest and the first born. He alone for once. No guidance of his parents - or Alwyn. His sister who had no idea how much fun the rest of the litter mates were. He sighed as the birds chirped around him. The odd little kalak made his way to the waters edge and made his way into the shallows. He began to lap up the pristine water with his pink tongue. When he stopped, he didn't list his head.

He instead stared as the ripples began to smoothen and his reflection showed. He was different. He sighed and sat down in the waters shallows and looked up at the clouds in the sky. With a splash he rolled onto his back, water covering his ears, back and tail with his legs relaxed. He closed his eyes, his body looking almost lifeless.
