The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

We laughed at fate and mourned her;

Summer was not the type of weather she rather enjoyed. The sweltering heat was not only uncomfortable, but it was completely unnecessary to one with a thick coat of fur. The sun was rather far too high in the sky and she felt much more comfortable roaming around forests or within the depths of Moladion in the Grotto. If only to get some relief from the heat. Luckily though the fields held a secret that many outsiders were well aware of. Appearances were always deceiving. The rolling hills, the tall grasses, and the flat lands held a variety of mystery within them and it wasn’t every day someone was brave enough to discover it for themselves. There within certain parts of the fields were small woods, nothing grand like forests, but there were massive tall trees that offered their shade for comfort and relief from the blazing and boiling sun. Though today she would not be within her den to stay away from the sunlight or lie down beneath some of the trees and keep her ebony fur from the sunlight. Today she would be wandering around within the Grotto trailing after a familiar scent.

Not everyone knows what truly goes on in the back of the Monster’s mind. There were things she has done in the past that some would say was truly not in her nature. She was a killer, yes, but she was a caregiver in different ways. Abandoning her own child to those within Iromar, from the outside many would see her as a cruel parent, and yet her daughter thrived without her. Truly if Raven stayed at her side within the loner lands would Raven have achieved as much as she did? The very night her second litter was born she did not protect them from Tobias. Rather she allowed their vulnerable bodies to be subjected to his very presence slowly teaching her imprint that the little souls before him was thiers and they needed to be protected and not eaten. Time would only tell if her hard work would pay off, but for now she knew they were safe with Flare near them. Flare would not allow anything to happen to her shadow and ghost children. Eventually her nose would bring her near the she-wolf that had once resided within the fields during the winter months. After her visit with Eden she wondered why Fiammetta would go after the Alpha of the beaches, but she was also concerned for the wolf, and it wasn’t because Tobias had some sort of desire to keep her as his.

Dark sapphire eyes narrowed as she noticed the familiar figure of the white she-wolf. Half torn ear twitched for a moment as she quietly made her approach. Not wanting to startle the wolf she let out a muffled bark and stood still, keeping herself at a comfortable distance for the two. Silently she looked over the girl for a moment taking notice of the wounds that were healing, lifting her head some to taste her scent and see if there was any infection. Not to make herself look so imposing she allowed herself to sit placing her banner around her paws. Within her cold gaze was a subtle gaze of concern as she allowed her eyes to continue to roam around Fiammetta, cold words softly spoken to her.

“Already out of the fields and you’ve been attacked...by whom?”
