I think I could work this to still being in his character, actually I think I have an idea! I'll get a post up soon so parentals can plan!

Edit: Castle, if it is ever implied around Tithe that puppies need playmates outside of the pack, that would trigger him to go on this quest without an actual command or direction. Just sayin'.
