Re(5): Latin crossword

Thanks for the confidence Murray, but not guilty. Missing "s" in the wordplay may have been transferred to the definition. But actually that doesn't really work either, I fear, as the word in question only really has this meaning in the plural. And I don't think the Romans would have added a suffix to the verb form indicated for 22a. A venture to be applauded though: several of my pupils have mentioned having a go (but they may well not have much experience of cryptic indications in English, let alone Latin: aliter had clearly not been understood as anagrind by one of my top pupils).
