Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

New places were so exciting! The summer was the perfect time for a swim, and playing in the water is something I can never exist. The scent of water had hit my nose during my explorations in the woodlands nearby. I emerged from the trees to see a huge field before me. In the distance, my golden eyes could catch the glint of sun on the water. A lake! How fun!

My white coat practically glimmering in the sun, I bound into the field, tail high in the air. I make my way toward the beckoning water, though it is a slow process. There are so many things in the grass that require my attention! There have been many other wolves here, although when I had glanced at the field beforehand, I had not seen any. But not seeing them, they left their smell behind and they were so interesting!

And other than the smells were the bugs. They flitted about the grass, buzzing to and fro. I had to avoid them, as they are dangerous and deadly (at least, I'll pretend they are, for the world is so much more fun when you pretend).

My haphazard path through the field probably made me look quite vacuous, but I could care less. My games have always had far greater importance than appearances, much to my parent's chagrin. They had never understood my games. Perhaps it was a good thing I was gone from them. They could go about living their boring and serious lives, and I could live here with my games!

Soon, I reach the waters edge. There is no hesitation when the water touches my paws. I never check the depths for danger. I simply run in, causing quite a loud splash as I do. My coat clings to my body, and I appear as a drowned white rat, but I am actually a fish! I wander in the water near the shore, my paws touching the bottom, but my head lowered slightly so that the water cools my neck. Fish are not often out of the water, after all, and while I do not wish to be submerged, I have to at least be somewhat fish-like.
