The truth of the matter was that Tobias was all right. He was injured, but it wasn’t too damaging enough where she could assume the worse. Yet she was right now a new Mother, her hormones were off the chart, she could feel his pain as if it were her very own, because of the bind between them. Being curled around him brought some comfort to her aching soul. Luckily the children were curled tightly against one another within the bed she made, and luckily she could lay next to them and Tobias when all was said and done. Yet for now she wanted to be curled around her imprint, he was more important than their brood. Sapphire eyes held a sorrowful and loving gaze upon the black behemoth and it was Nakato’s voice that broke that stare. Unconcerned with how Nakato was speaking to her, after all the bob-tailed she-wolf had more knowledge on this matter, she followed as instructed. Gently she moved her muzzle to some of the small cuts he received and she would begin to lick over them, cleaning them up. It should have been her that was lying with in the den bearing the wounds of a battle. If it was not for the pups then she would have gone out herself. Even though she was thankful that Tobias went out she still felt guilty. True, she needed her second in hand to be capable of fighting, and he was and would continue to be, but there were times when she wished to take matters in her own paw.
It did not bother her that Nakato was dealing with the other wound on Tobias. If Jaidah thought that attacking Tobias and his man parts to keep him from breeding and producing more pups that goal was clearly wasted. She had no intention of carrying more parasites for him. Winter would come and surely Tobias would act upon his instinctual needs, but thankfully there was luck on their side – their age would keep them from producing. When Nakato began to shove her away a deep growl began to rumble in the back of her throat. She did not want to leave his side, her need to be close to him more fervent than ever, and it was difficult to restrain herself from biting Nakato. Getting up she would allow Nakato the chance to look and treat to his chest wound but she remained steading there, her warm breath heating her shoulder, ever so watchful of her other half. As soon as Nakato was finished the ebony and grey wolf would nudge her pups gently closer to their Father, allowing her the chance to lay between her counterpart and children. Gently her head would lay gently near his as she gently licked the side of his muzzle, her dark gaze fixated upon him closely. Hearing the druid speak her head would swing over to look at the she-wolf, her voice cool and firm.
“He wasn’t dying and he wasn’t close to dying. So long as his wounds don’t become infected he will be perfectly fine to fight again. You did good Nakato, you are our Frankenstein now.”
Nakato had done what was her purpose. She had come to Asteraia wanting a home and wanting a place to use her talents. She had been able to tonight and Tick Tock saw no other reason to not reward her. Nakato had earned it and she had done well. Not only did she deal with the childbirth that occurred hours before, but she had stayed near her Alpha while Tobias had gone to fight Jaidah. Nakato treated Tobias and so, she had done her service tonight, more so then perhaps other pack members would. Indeed she liked the bob-tailed wolf. She truly did and she would not want anything to happen to her. In fact, she wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to all her members within her pack. The one thing she would do not do tonight would be to voice out her concerns about her feelings to her imprint. There was no need to. She was chained to a wolf that may not ever be able to understand or recognize and she would not allow herself to be chipped away even more so if she voiced it aloud. Shaking her head she moved her back leg to allow access to her milk for the pups as they nuzzled in closer to her to feed once more. Tenderly she began to groom him, now that he was still and quiet, content to be close to him once more. Whether Nakato stayed was up to her and she would not mind her presence tonight, but for now her attention was on her imprint as she whispered softly unsure if he would hear.
“You did good today Tobias...you protected your home, you protected your own...next time I will protect them, and even though you do not need it, I will protect you too.”
It was a promise.
