Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Everlast

She had tried to hide herself away on the island in the middle of the lake in the valley. It had been the ideal spot for her. So she had thought anyways until she had been stumbled upon. Once she had been rid of her visitor - much to her dismay - the sun had climbed high in the sky and begun to bake her to the point of restlessness. It had taken a dip in the lake to cool her off and finally she had decided to swim to the opposite bank to find new shelter. There were so many wolves around lately. She had watched from between the blades of the tall grass while they had come to drink from the lake, her brows furrowed and a tension laced through her figure. While she had seen no sighting of Seline in a long time the female had marked her forever. She had helped shape the creature that was Everlast, beating her down even further than what her father had already done, and she was slowly shaking off the ashes. A pheonix arising? Not hardly. Merely surviving.

The sun had slipped down towards the horizon now so that long shadows stretched out. She slipped through these shade pools, her pale gray and white body visible against them as she moves away from the more open lands to the comfort of trees and cover. The sound of frogs croaking and crickets chirping draws her away from shelter of the trees, the sun now but a sliver over the horizon. The river oozes past, the current not nearly as fierce as in the spring months for the bed was not swollen but ever constant. Slate gray eyes take in her surroundings as she pauses in the opening, careful to look around her before moving down to the waters edge. The earth dips down towards the bank and then plunges unexpectedly into the water and she is stands about a foot above the water with a small frown.

Carefully she lowers herself, tail up in the air to kind of kepe her balance, and with her chest pressing her forelegs down into the soft earth and claws digging into the edge of the earth, she stretches her thick-furred neck out in an attempt ot reach the water, eager for the cool contents to sooth her parched throat. The soft earth she rests upon begins to give way the moment her tongue tastes the forbidden drink and her haunches tense, back paws thrusting her back as she draws up and spins, awkwardly, so that she can leap up to safety as it crumbles away into the water with Everlast standing with a wide-eyed look and splayed legs at the top of the embankment.
