So last thursday Windows had an update to install. I installed it. My geriatric laptop has been prompting me to run a disk check for last last several months. The update made windows unusable so when going to restore to a previous "version" I had to do the disk check. After that, I ended up in a system reboot loop. I assumed this was the hard drive death I'd been expecting. Took it to geek squad with little expectation (was going to get a new laptop that night too, they "discontinued" it, so will be getting it from costco). Geek squad said it wasn't the hard drive but a corrupted OS. They backed everything up on an external hard drive but unfortunately the OS recovery disks we had didn't work, so my laptop isn't fixable.

I wanted to get the new laptop yesterday, got told we'd do it that evening, and then when I prompted my parents, got told "why does it have to be today, it's rush hour. We'll go wednesday" because today (Tuesday) wouldn't be just fine. I'll see if I can press it for today, but since my mom is obsessed with pricing, the cheaper price and increased warranty from costco isn't enough just in case it goes on sale next month so we have to wait as long as possible even though the return policy would be long enough to know for certain if it's price will drop for the price difference thing.

Anyway, I'm on my mom's laptop and she doesn't like me on here because "your gaming sites mess up everything" (meaning cause IE to crash, which is only true because IE will crash on any website). Just wanted to check in.
