Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Perhaps her mother ought to have told her that there would be the possibility of such a thing happening; she had, after all, come from two bonded parents. Yet, her mother had seemingly begrudged her that fact, likely out of the belief that Pandora might have sought to learn it herself. Of course, she had not been entirely wrong and yet even in her unknowing, she had found herself wanting the answer without trying. Just who was this male and why had she been drawn to him? The answer was too impractical! Too illogical! Too anything! If she had known about the process of... imprints? Well, at least then she'd know the cause of the symptoms... especially the symptoms that seemingly presented themselves in him.

His submission had, of course, not gone unnoticed. It was a barely-there thing and yet, it made her a little weary almost. Never had she been submitted to in any way, not even by her own brother or family. In fact, she had always found herself comfortably towards the bottom of the pecking order (without much responsibility, which was often ideal in her eyes) and so, it made her... unsteady. She did her best to remain composed, however, though perhaps her eye twitch would have given away her uncertainty. To be sure, though, she had a lot of ticks that made themselves known when she investigated; a flick of an ear, the twitch of a nostril or the furrowing of her brows. It always seemed as if she was in motion.

When she had taken her place once more in front of him, that was when the real questioning had begun. Her mouth had a habit of running far faster than her mind and so, she had to make a real effort to cut herself short, her lips taut with apparent effort from doing so. Still, she fell into quiet and yet not stillness; her brow had risen in question, her ear lazily flicked forward in expectancy, as if its movement would make the words come out faster.

When he had spoken, her ears shot back instantly and flattened against her skull with suspicion. Her eyes had become narrowed, slits of darkness amongst the gold and white of her face as she stared into him. When she spoke, her voice came out with all the suspicion one might expect from somebody that looked like her at that time. Slow, cautious words that she had never expected herself to say: "Why? Am I... aesthetically pleasing to you?"

Her lips had become taut once more, her right ear flickering forward when he chimed in once more. She need only ask? Why, it could not be helped! Such a thing brought the smallest hint of laughter to her voice, her teeth poking out from her lip in an amused grin. "What an odd thing to say," she begun, having sucked in a breath to begin her lecture, "Especially to a stranger! What if I were from a rival pack? I could ask you where you hunt, what your leader does, where she sleeps. Would you answer me those things?"

Then, perhaps the oddest thing came out of her mouth. "I think, perhaps, I would tell you such a thing if you asked but only because I have a hunch that you are something... uncommon." Perhaps they were not the most... kind of words, or even the most logical (she realised, of course, for she had tried to catch her words mid air with a weak snap of her teeth) and yet, they had come out all too naturally. It made her skin twitch (and an eye.) Ah, to not understand something was a curse - or something much worst. She had not yet decided.
