Let's get this party started!

Carved pumpkins grin creepily from the foot of every door, the glowing candles within flickering in the darkness. Scarecrows, fake skeletons and even real animal skulls line the streets, propped up against trees or low garden walls which themselves have been decorated with splatters of red paint. Hanging from the tree branches overhead are two-dimensional cardboard cut-outs of dismembered limbs, bones, and monsters of the night.

In the village square, a variety of stalls have been set up. Some are simple sales transactions, offering hot and sweet bites, a variety of costumes and grisly toys. Others, for a doubloon or two, offer brightly-decorated games with prizes. Traditional apple-bobbing barrels occasionally splash the tables of toilet roll next door, with signs inviting children to mummify themselves to frighten their peers. Further down the street, a bar and dance area marks the adult-only section, although a few suspiciously young-looking characters seem to have sweet-talked their way past the bouncers.

Hallowe’en has come to the Commune.

Oh no! Is your character being a bit of a grump but you still want in on the fun? Here are some suggestions for getting them involved, but not as a party guest:
- Brought in to resolve mechanical, electrical or technical issues (e.g. spooky lights not working, your character has to fix them)
- Running a stall or game (e.g. apple bobbing, selling sweets/costumes/drinks, pumpkin carving stall)
- A guard/police type character brought in to maintain order/make sure things go smoothly
- One of the organisers, caterers or financial sponsors of the event come to see the fruits of your hard work
- Running a daycare/play area for the little ones so that the adults can go and have a good time
- Pirate/thief/pickpocket opportunist come to steal, kidnap or sabotage
- Dragged here unwillingly by a friend/family member
