The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Excitement flooded through Neverland when the dark wolf before her admitted that there were games in the strange swamp lands she smelled of. Her paws gathered underneath her as the other wolf moved, standing as well. She vaguely followed Despoina’s movements as the other wolf bounced around her, but something held her back from her usual playful disposition. Something about this felt wrong. This was not the type of play she was used to, the type of play she new existed in these lands thanks to Taika.

When the dark wolf opened her jaws to imitate one of the crocodiles, Neverland could not help jerking her head backwards, away from the white glints of teeth. Some time during Despoina’s strange mockery of play, Neverland had frozen, too unsure to actually engage. The lack of motion was rare for the white-coated wolf. Usually she was always jumping, leaping, and skittering about.

“I’m not sure I like those type of games,” she said carefully, her brow furrowed in confusion. She had never come across a game she disliked. She had taken quickly enough to the talk of fairies, embracing her friend’s game as her own.

“Do you not play games of chasing fairies and becoming a ghost? Those games are much more fun!” She could not help herself. Her tail was wagging again, as she just about pranced in place. This wolf - Despoina, she now knew - must simply have never been taught to play properly! Any size difference between the two was lost on Neverland. When a game was at stake, the game was all that ever mattered.

“Well then moor-wolf,” she continued, not even waiting for an answer to her question, “it’s time you learned what fun games are!”

She bounded back away from the dark colored wolf toward the way she had come from, pausing before she was out of sight, tail up and wagging like a white banner behind her. But not like a flag of defeat. Her games could never be defeated. She waited at the curve of the cave they had met in, muscles tense, waiting to bound away if Despoina was willing to follow her. Maybe she really could make friends with every wolf here!
