I will agree as well that both involved will need to suffer consequences of their actions. Sadly, I fear the young woman will be hailed as some kind of victim/hero for standing up to the tyranny of out of control establishment. The officer did have the responsibility to de-escalate this situation and not engage in the same bad behavior exhibited by the student. Certainly he should not have taken it to the physical level that he did. One of the other people in charge of such security said one of the keys to de-escalation is to remove the audience. So, the classroom should have been emptied of the other students that the girl was trying to impress with her toughness. Then he said the officer should have simply ordered himself some lunch ready to sit and eat in front of her and let her know he had all day, but she would be leaving the school at some point and not coming back due to her bad behavior. I thought that handling it that way would have saved both involved so much drama and consequence. An example would have been set that authority will not sink to the level of a brat that is throwing a fit. No national video, no attention for the bad behavior.
I liked the Gods must Be Crazy as well Jack, but I am not sure I ever watched the second part. I may have to look that up.
