heros may die...but legends endure

She was perhaps too young, or at the very least, in denial of such things in the world. She would wish that everyone would be happy, but she knew that never happened. Someone was always trying to hurt someone else, be it mentally or physically such things happened and always it would come in time. She was too young to fully want to understand such things though and for certain thoughts like those would come in time to the young princess. However such thoughts were not in her mind currently, she was trying to bring some peace to her friend and she hoped it would. She didn’t know it brought on a whole plethora of other thoughts that he himself didn’t really believe what she said, but she could hope it did and that was all she could do. It wasn’t like she was lying to him, with Covet gone she was sure some semblance of normalcy had fallen back on the pack, least to her knowledge it had. She didn’t know of the new little plague that had befallen it, perhaps another day, or another time she would hear of Zeus but it wouldn’t be today or now.

At the moment he said they were indeed friends she was so happy. She was his friend that meant she would help him always if he needed it and he wouldn’t say no. That was important to her, so important in fact her little heart filled with such glee it felt light and warm inside of her. There was no reason to doubt his words he sounded wholly truthful when he spoke them and perhaps it was that that made her the happiest. She smiled back at him, her tail still waving around she would keep him light however she could. Never would she let him become anything like Covet so long as she could stop it. Zelda didn’t believe Hyrule was capable of such hate and darkness to begin with and she would be sure to keep him as he was now. Light, but hurt and tainted slightly by things that never should have happened to him and things that easily could have taken anyone over the line. She knew he had to whatever it was for him, for everyone she thought and she would help him even if it was a simple thing like making sure he didn’t go too far into the shadows to accomplish what he had to do to get there. That was her job now as his friend and she would uphold it forever.

It was then though she asked her own favor of him, and question. She wasn’t sure who else to ask. Her mother didn’t want her going to Asteraia at all for understandable reasons. After all the old Queen had killed her grandparents… and the new Queen along with some of the members, before she ruled Asteria though, had attacked the pack lands. She understood but she still wanted to go and see the lands for herself… this, she thought, was her best chance despite the dangers. She was hopeful with all the traveling he did Hyrule had been there and she was right.

He explained he had been their two times, once under each rule it seemed. She didn’t know who these princesses of Asteraia were but it made her heart feel a bit hurt. There were princesses, like her, probably removed from their seats, but she guessed they had more claim to that home that she did, she never even got to see it, she was conceived there and nothing more her father didn’t even technically rule yet, but he still sought a way to take it over. Then Hyrule said something interesting too, that he wanted the lands for himself someday. Her ears perked slightly at that and her head gave a slight tilt, but then he asked why. ”I want to go there.” The started quietly, ”My Grandparents owned them and I never got to meet either of them because…” She fell silent then looking away. ”I hear things about them all the time I want to know them and I just feel like going there will help me know them.” None of it probably made since she had to admit it was just a feeling. But she wanted to go there to get closer to them to see what the land was that her grandmother died to protect and see what state it was in now. They were put to rest in the forest but their home was the plains and Zelda wanted to see them for herself. She wanted to ask him why he wanted to rule the plains, but she thought at the moment it would be rude to ask. If he knew Impa, the queen, would he fight her for them? Or was there something else going on.
