While I don't doubt what people are sure they see and I'm sure in a lot of cases they are right but I have to relate a quick story here. A few months back my mom was over and as usual she scanned the backyard and into the woods looking to see if she could spot the norm of a deer, coyote or fox.She announced "I see movement". I agreed, something was definitely moving but far enough into the woods that we couldn't tell what it was. We did know this however - it was black. After talking back and forth and constantly watching we realized it had it's head down and was eating. The only possible thing we thought it could be was a bear. Nothing else around here is that color, although believe me my mind immediately went to a black Mountain Lion, Panther but I did not voice this as my mom would have made me carry the pepper spray she bought me every time I went into my yard. After about 5 minutes the bear started to move and lo and behold it stepped into the sunlight! Imagine our surprise when the black bear turned into a normal colored deer!We were both amazed at what the sunlight or lack there of can do to change the appearance of color.
