Laca museum expanding by 230 square feet Posted on November 7, 2015 at 04:25:35 PM by Jeff "Laca" Conway
The Laca Jai-alai and Sports museum is now undergoing an expansion. About 230 square feet are being added in a new area as a west wing. It will be called the "High Rollers" where the most valuable collectables will be moved into 3 new rooms.
Those items will include baseballs signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, original seats from the 1923 and 1976 Yankee Stadium, and a glove signed by Cy Young.
The jai-alai section will be expanded to handle the many gifts we have received recently. The Tampa Bay Bucs section will also be moved, and a special section on the Laca 60th birthday party will be moved in the new rooms also.
Over 300 people have visited the museum since it opened, including jai-alai stars like Benny and Daniel. Baseball greats like Wade Boggs and Fred McGriff have also attended.
The expansion will be ready for the nighttime event scheduled Saturday, December 5th at 6pm in the Laca museum. Replies: There have been no replies.
