Re(1): litter box

Dear Jane;

That is indeed a puzzler, but let us hope you will not have to curtail Kitty's outdoor fun, as I am sure it is a major bright spot in his life.
Take a look at our opening screen. You will see a section entitled "Cat Care." Click on that term and you will see a number of topics -- take a look at "Litter Box Mistakes." It's a list of the numerous reasons for those 'litter box mistakes' like the one your Kitty is making.
But my suggestion would be, considering his age, that he might be having some kidney difficulties. This is very common in boy cats. Your vet could give you the best advice on this. In our house we have been buying "urinary kibbles" (available at Walmart at same cost as ordinary kibbles) and none of our boy cats have had urinary troubles since we switched to those kibbles.
Hope something in here is beneficial to your dear old pal. Do let us know how he gets along, okay?
Wishing you and Kitty the best,
-- Dear Tabby
