I know that there are those among you with ambition. For those that wish to step forth and challenge themselves, here are the tasks one must complete to rise to the high ranks of this pack. Look over them, and if you believe you are up to the challenge (which I know you are) let me know which path you have decided to pursue. All ranks are always open for challenge.

Anyone wishing to begin their journey to one of the ranks not listed here, please let me know here and I will inform you of your tasks.

Maester:
These tasks can be completed by seeking out the assistance of Niviaq or a trained healer from one of our ally packs.
1. Learn about the plants, minerals, and other natural resources used in healing. Also how to gather, store, and preserve them. Begin to collect and build your own personal pharmacopeia that you will be able to use in times of need for the pack.
2. Though spring is still two seasons away, it is the time of year when our wolves face the greatest risk of health problems. Before then, find out how to cope with one of the following situations that can present in a troubled birthing: massive blood loss from the mother or a pup that is struggling to breath and nurse. This winter, offer expectant mothers your assistance in any way you can. In spring, be readily available to help with any troublesome birthings. You must attend at least one birthing (if we have expecting mothers).
3. A healer should be able to treat both the body and mind. Learn about ways to aid in soothing an anxious wolf, calming one with rage, and comforting someone who may be depressed. The remedies should be two-fold: medicinal and psychotherapeutic.

Palfrey:
1. Successfully steal one wolf from the freelands. Use you best judgement when choosing a target, as they will not remain captive for more than one week's time, at which point they will be given the choice to become a member of Spirane or go about their lives as they had before.
2. Asteraia and Glorall have both changed leadership in the last two years. Travel to one of these packs and feel out the new regime (by meeting a pack member, not an alpha). Report back to me on your findings, and advise me on whether you think they would make a reliable ally.
3. Meet with Niviaq here in Spirane, or a healer of one of our ally packs, and learn the basics of healing - the best ways to stop bleeding, how to manage pain, and how to treat a burn.
4. Engage in a spar with a member of the armament, or the Castellan. Learn the tactical skills required to defend yourself and others; this task will be deemed complete when your skills are deemed satisfactory by whomever is your teacher.
5. Participate in a small two wolf hunt with a member of the armament, or the Courser. Learn the best ways to take down prey when hunting in a group, to keep the damage to those involved minimal. This task will be deemed complete when your skills are deemed satisfactory by whomever is your teacher.
Once you have completed two of these tasks you will be moved to the rank of Vassal. Upon completion of all five you will become the Palfrey.

Warden:
**1. Travel to Asteraia and feel out the new regime (by meeting a pack member, not an alpha). Report back to me on your findings, and advise me on whether you think they would make a reliable ally.
2. Choose one of our ally packs and orchestrate an interpack mingling of some sort. This could be a hunt, gathering of youths, perhaps a support group for mothers, or something else of your own design.

Mercenary:
1. As Mercenary, you are partly responsible for making sure those of Spirane are worthy of the pack. Seek out a member among the Stewards (who is not ^pending promotion) and get to know them. Afterwards, come see me and advise me on whether you think they should remain in the pack and why, and also offer a suggestion for a future rank that might suit their skills or personality.
(You may select 2a or 2b to complete, you do not need to do both)
2a. To prove your ability to ward off invaders or enemies, choose a wolf of the pack to spar with. This can be whomever you would like, but preferably someone you feel can challenge you.
OR
2b. There are individuals who have committed crimes against Spirane, and they must atone for their transgressions. Take one of the following wolves prisoner by whatever means you see fit, and you (along with my Justiciar) will assist me in deciding their punishment.
     - The wolf who raped Kiyomi; a medium built tawny male with cream markings. (Malignus)
     - The adolescent who attacked Nymeria and Samus; a pure black boy with purple eyes. (Zagan)
     - For attacking Uno, Zen, and their companions and for his assorted crimes against Diveen, Zeus.
       (Though he will stand judgment in Diveen)

daenerys
