The three children had turned out to be a veritable grab bag of personality and looks from both sides of their parents, and not just them but all of the generations before. Moonie was a direct throwback to their grandmother, the same was true with Sami so similar to their father in looks and personality, even Rufio was so like his mother. It made for an odd dynamic that worked for their little family, and Rufio loved them all fiercely. Times like these, as the trio trotted down the mountain paths, would be the ones he looked back on with fondness and love. He would ever seek to be the confidant to his sisters and in times like these also the peacekeeper between their very different outlooks.

A giggle fell from his lips as Samus accused their sister of only wanting to go to the moon because of her name, though they all knew the truth of who her namesake was. Uncle Tali had made sure they knew all about the rich history their family had up on the mountain side, though perhaps Moonie was the only one who paid truly close attention. Rufio had a tendency to be a bit more preoccupied with the here and now. As Samus fell into her impersonation of their father his smile dissolved into a full fit of laughter, beating his creamy paw on the ground as he fought to breathe.

He stilled himself as Moonie defended why she wanted to see the stars, a smile on his face as he stepped toward where Samus was flopping about in her impersonation. The smile changed to a sly grin as one sister tried to convince the other that asking for permission would be the better option. “Ya Sami, you know if they find we’re missing dad would be all…rawr!” he said, getting louder as he dove at his dark hued sister, growling and biting playfully at her ears and the ruff around her neck. Jumping up off and hopefully out of the way of Samus’ own retaliation he playfully leapt at Moonie, nipping at her cheeks before dancing away again. His dark brown topped tail waved excitedly behind him and he yapped toward both of them, hoping his distraction had worked.
