Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

heros may die...but legends endure

She guessed maybe it was silly, or strange to ask her friend such a request but she had to know. Her mother said shadows were on the land, and lots of bad luck had fallen to the land shortly after several wolves were attacked and killed on it by a large bear. It just seemed like everything went down hill from there. Zelda didn’t know all of the story, that the sons that had survived lived in the very pack she was from or any such things as that simply it just seemed to all go down from there. The land fell into a stillness then she came and had to make it worse. That was what Zelda knew of it, of the history she and her father’s time in the plains and her grandparents and how kind they were and a bit of their history. But that was all she would know of them, stories and memories of others she wanted to be closer.

She went silent after she said her grandparents once went there and also a little sad when she could tell that Hyrule had not really known of them. It was okay, though she thought she could see a little spark of recognition behind his eyes at her grandfather’s name she knew Hyrule was young too and couldn’t know everyone despite how much he traveled. However his question was initially met with a heavy feeling in her chest and more silence. She looked away slightly not really thinking his misunderstanding of her words rude or daft jus she had to be more honest and give him more answers. ”The wolfess. Jaidah she killed my grandmother and she and my grandfather were imprints and the severing it killed him too. Least that’s what my family believes.” A little tear built up in the corner of her eye this was something she didn’t understand and likely never would in all her days to come. Perhaps it was the peaceful blood from her own grandfather that gave her such feelings of non-understanding or just her young age, still though she couldn’t deny that it hurt.

”I don’t know why she had to kill her, Hyrule. I know that’s how packs work, the winner keeps their home or takes it, the loser leaves, but she didn’t have to kill Grandmother Rhae. I never got to meet her or Grandfather. That type of darkness is the darkness I want to stop the most.” It was just as he was telling him before. Covet was gone, but her own family had its own problems. She didn’t mean to dump her pent up feelings towards the white wolfess on her new friend he had his own things to sort out. She guessed her uncle didn’t do anything but home the wolves Covet had uprooted, he hadn’t chased down the wolf who had hurt Hyrule’s family so, and she sort of understood that was why the Angel’s may be staying out of any business regarding Jaidah. She had yet to harm any of their wolves or family, just as Covet had never touched hers. It wasn’t like she hated Jaidah though. Zelda was just sad and didn’t understand why Jaidah had done what she had done just to be a leader of a pack she ultimately let fall.

She placed her forehead onto Hyrule’s shoulder for a moment still slightly teary eyed though not allowing him to really see if she actually was fully crying or not. Comfort of another was always a good thing, especially of a friend. Zelda just wished she had a chance to know them. If they were as wonderful as her family said then she wanted to see them for herself but Jaidah took that away from her and all her siblings. She pulled away giving a soft smile though shaking her head slightly trying to push off the feelings as Hyrule said he would take her there and he already was allowed to enter whenever he wanted. ”I want to go now, if that’s okay. Or at least soon. If that’s okay?” She said her voice no longer slow and considering but again a little more cheerful. She had to get a hold of herself and her emotions. She didn’t want to look like a cry baby or put her problems onto Hyrule she just wanted to understand something she couldn’t comprehend. Jaidah was full of darkness… just like Covet.

She just explained it to Hyrule that they wouldn’t understand those types of wolves and their motives but still she wanted to know why she had done it. It was strange how that worked, knowing the answer could never come but wanting to grab for it anyway. She wanted to see the land return to the light it was when her grandparents had owned it. Wether or not the current queen did that had yet to be seen, but with Hyrule’s help Zelda knew she would find out soon.
