aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

~I hope you smile when you look down on me~

There was a peaceful sensation that hung over the clearing. The ashen fea lifted her face to the sky letting the rays of sun warm her. Time was elapsing in a way that didn’t feel real. She felt frozen in time, the space around her figure shifted around her like she was part of the land. The femme’s golden pools looked around in amazement, was this what it’s like to be inanimate? The towering rock was starting to cast shadows in different spots and the shade of the trees was shifting. Sebring’s pelt was speckled with warm spots, but it was nothing compared to the warmth she felt surround her with her mottled knight. She sighed lightly wishing that she could find him once again. She wanted to feel his gentle touch, hear her sweet words and fall in love all over again with everything about him from his baritone lyrics to his grey speckled cheeks. Or maybe it was the way their bodies just fit so perfectly together or the way that he could heal her memory with the husky whispers and unhinging desire. There was no way to explain every little detail about her mottled knight but Sebring would try with all her might to find a way.

Being so engrossed in her thoughts Sebring did not notice the squabbling and tumbling body coming towards her. But without warning the two were on the ground. Sebring’s limbs sprawled out and she went nose first into the dirt with the panting little body lying similarly, behind her outstretched hind legs. Sebring yelped as she crashed down feeling all the little bruises swell back up and her ribs felt cracked all over. Her bodice was frozen in pain for several seconds as she sought to unlock her bones and muscles, but a small whimpering caught her attention. Sebring felt a mothering instinct rising up and she felt her muscles relaxing trying to allow her to get to the pup. As she turned around she realized the pup was scared of her, his eyes pulled closed so tightly that no light could get behind his lids. He could’ve thought she was some hulking monster waiting to eat him up…

Sweetheart, it’s okay I’m not going to hurt you… Are you alright? Where’s your mother? Sebring lowered herself back down to the ground, taking care not to bump her ribs again. Her vocals were sweet and soft, hoping to lull the pup into a calmer state. Her golden pools looked over the little brute’s body noticing the brambles hanging on his hind leg. She crept towards the pup and reached out with a paw to pull out the bramble. She started to sing a gentle tune to calm the pup as she pulled it out. Sebring placed her paw on the bramble making sure he wouldn’t bolt again. If he didn’t she would proceed to pull out the bramble, humming quietly to reassure the babe that she wouldn’t hurt him. If he did bolt she would call out to him, and go after him trying to make sure that he didn’t get into any more trouble. He seemed scared of everything the flickered or twitched. Sebring knew how that felt and she couldn’t help but feel for the lad.

"They’re only baby scars," She whispers.
