Jaeger ate the herbs as she commanded, not knowing what they were or what they were going to do but unwilling to suffer any more of the wrath of the wolf who had rescued him. She was certainly grumpy, angry even, but she was nice enough to have saved him and in her own way seemed concerned for his well-being. His head still pounded and his wounds ached, but the pain had ebbed a little from it's original intenseness. In a way he realized how silly it was to believe that Heyel had come back from the dead to attack him, especially when the wolf had never shown him any sort of displeasure or anger, but the fear was deep-rooted within Jaeger and it made him feel unstable and paranoid.
And he was hearing... things. Laughter, and whispering voices. He kept seeing the image of his attacker materialize in the corner of his eye. "Why are you laughing at me?" Jaeger snapped, although it was clear that her mouth was not moving. But the laughter did not stop. He remembered, then, a different time, with puppies laughing good-heartedly near a den, watching a butterfly flit around the tall grass.
"Jaeger, tandem quidam ex vobis, fortitudinem!"
The voice made him jump and he had only the briefest image of a rainbow-eyed boy speaking those words to him before fading away. He did not know what the other words meant, but the first evoked a sense of familiarity in him. "Jaeger, tandem quidam ex vobis, fortitudinem." Jaeger mumbled, squeezing his eyes shut before opening them to look at his rescuer. "I think that's my name. Jaeger. What's yours?" He asked, then, talking freely despite her grumpy consequences.
Jaeger listened to her speak and nodded slowly. It was at least refreshing to know that he was going to be okay. It put him at ease, somewhat, to know that his attacker's attempt had failed. He would surely have some nasty scars around his scruff, but he was alive- even if his memories weren't. "Thank you." He said genuinely, taking the time that she took to gather her herbs to bring himself to a standing position. It hurt like hell to stand, and his body seemed to be screaming at him, but he did it anyone. "Do you know of a wolf with rainbow eyes? He was the one who said that to me. I think I should find him." Jaeger was scatterbrained, thinking too quickly and in ways that didn't make sense, but he knew the image to be true. Perhaps more things would make sense if he could track that wolf down.
