It is not difficult to see why the Monster was fiercely protective over the souls that haunted the fields. The wolves that had called Asteraia as their own deserved to have an attentive leader that actually was capable of being a Provider and Protector. She had done what was necessary in order to retain the family she had built. It was thrilling to see that within a year the pack had grown, cannibalistic wolves and non-cannibalistic wolves lived together without complication. Each wolf within the fields were unique, different, but highly capable of accepting themselves and each other. Some packs had large multiple families, but she had strong individuals that sparked mutual respect and trust with each other. They were a family in a sense, they were her family and she was pleased to see that many would come to her.
As the rain continued to pour down at a steady calm rhythm her dark eyes noticed a familiar shape touched with ivory and crimson. With a soft welcoming growl she remained still as Flare brushed past her to seek out any further threats, but once she returns to her side she is not bothered by Flare's inspection. Feeling her tongue brush against her ruff and the small cut under her eye did not bother her at all. Gently Tick Tick's tongue would slide out and brush against Flare's maw in an endearing manner. It was the soft voice from her son that caught her attention. Turning her head away from Flare she stared at her only son, nodding her head slowly should he wish to continue his question. But when none came she remained standing still, keeping her right back leg up to elevate the pain and pressure she felt. As he pressed himself into her chest, a soft rumble was caught in the back of her throat, as she bent her neck down to curl around his shadowy form. Hearing his words of approval was a cherished thing to hear and she couldn't help, but uncurl her neck and place a tender lick against his cheek. Dark eyes swept towards Nevermore as she made her approach and once again the Monster would leave an affectionate lick against her other pup's cheek.
As Lonhro made his approach an affectionate growl rumbled within her chest. He was not her child, but she had grown to care for the boy when he was within the shared den of her imprint and his mate. Taking a few tentative steps forward, keeping her right back leg up, she stretched her neck some in order to place her muzzle against his cheek in a endearing manner. Unsurprisingly she felt a tight tug within her soul as her counterpart made his approach. Her ebony and grey plume was raised in a dominant manner, not allowing him to think that just because she was injured it would give him reason to think he could overpower her. Pulling her neck away from Lonhro she felt a tinge of pain from her scruff. Though she would ignore when she shifted her dial to see her second daughter come and place herself near her brother.
As Tobias came and pressed his form against her own, she held her ground not wanting him to knock her down. Leaning into him, as best as she could, she could feel her soul flutter with the thrill and desire to finally be back so closely within his presence. She had won the land for him long ago and provided for him a place where he could have sanctuary. She was grateful that he had protected this land and the wolves within it from Jaidah and she finally felt content to have him at her side once more. She had promised to protect him, even though he didn't need it, and she was pleased to have her black and grey form carry his scent and Flare's with Jaidah's scent being erased.
As the other members within her pack came through the shadows and stood beneath the steady and quiet down pour the Monster watched them. It did not bother her that they would see her form after a battle. Jaidah’s attempt to kill or harm the elder wolf was not so very affective. A torn scruff, a graze cut below the eye was nothing to fret so much about. Tick Tock knew Nakato could keep an infection from coming from the scruff, and the cut below her eye would heal and be barely seen. The fracture and wound under the hock area would be tended and looked after, and thankfully, she would have the correct amount of rest and proper eyes to look after her. She was a pack wolf, an Alpha, and she would heal quite well, and she would be ready to go for another round again should Jaidah attempt to take the fields once more. Though for now she was not concerned about it. Instead she was focused on watching her members quite content and pleased with their presence. There were a few new wolves and she quietly stared at the one that suggested she put marigold on her scruff, puzzled as to why she would suggest such a thing. Her tail would gently sway seeing an over excited Galileo make his quick and hyper entrance into the group, giving a curt nod to the smiling little wolf. As Nakato spoke of the obvious appointment she needed with her Frankenstein the Monster nodded her head once in agreement, but right now she would not discuss such things. Dark eyes would look over to Starshade noticing that flicker of her tail waving back and forth, and a soft growl of approval was given to the female. Seeing another new wolf slink into her group caused the Alpha to wonder if perhaps this second defiance of Jaidah’s presence made others think that perhaps this was a pack to belong to. In time she would visit with the new members, but for now, she would allow herself to focus on each wolf, giving them a chance to taste the victory she had given them. Seeing Eric and Cuirass was a rarity, but she always appreciated their company. The comment Cuirass made caused her black lips to twitch and reveal some of her bloodstained teeth. Seeing all of them before, she raised her dial slightly ignoring the pain she felt in her scruff as she continued to stand on her three good limbs, wanting to at least speak to the family she so dearly protected.
“I am thankful for the loyalty you have given myself and Tobias, and I hold closely the trust you have given us. You are not just a pack, but you are my family. I believe a pack hunt is in order – Eric and Starshade I trust that you two will bring volunteers to help provide a pack with a good meal. As for the rest of you, keep a close eye on the borders and venture into the outlands to find wolves that belong here. The ones that are new come seek me near my den so we can chat and see where you fit in the pack, and Cuirass – we’ll continue in the Spring. For now let us just revel in the moment.”
Truly she should be walking back to her den for the warmth and allow her Frankenstein to tend to her, but for now, she just wanted to cherish this victorious moment. Jaidah, and any other wolf that dared to take her pack, wouldn’t have the chance to take the land she claimed and the wolves she cared for in the fields.
