"Are you alright?" she asks as he takes the tea. That had certainly been quite a bit of spluttering. Her cheeks turn a bit red as he is thanking her for letting him be a father. Biologically there was no choice. She also did not know of any other males (or females for that matter) that might be interested in helping raise a small troublesome creature. Apparently they were fairly helpless for quite a while, she gleaned from the question and answer sessions with the midwife. Not just a month or so, like with chicks, but years. She sighed internally. This would probably take more patience than she actually had.

Whimsy watched the little creature, so fragile, almost asleep in his crib. Her hummingbird wings were tucked gracefully out the way. It was amazing how far the two of them had come since first meeting on the beach. Calvin's own wings were now fully developed. She noted that despite the abatement of Peet's phobia, she still did not deign to join them, and her personality was still prickly. She wondered if her own familiar, if ever she gained one, would feel the same. She still tried not to stare at the little mare, more out of habit now than the threat of being trampled.

She had laid out clothes for the baby, but in the late summer air they were unecessary for now, brilliant in both summer and fall patterns of greens and oranges. Her mentor would have been proud of her work. Whimsy furrowed her brows. Would be proud of her work. She would return, preferrably sooner than later. "Which reminds me, we might want to sync our school schedules so one of us can watch him at all times." More of a gathering of thoughts sentence than a deliberate order or accusation.

Whimsy's tea had quickly been drained. She absently wondered if it had tasted good, as she had been a bit too distracted to notice. Thinking she probably should not have more right this second she pushed the cup away from her, carefully staying seated in the chair. Let others do the rest of the moving for today.
