Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

It is amazing to me how easy it is to entice the males to do my bidding. A coy smile, a flash of my lovely eyes, and just a slight sway to my step. It has never failed and I'm certain Carnifex would not approve but he was not here to feed me. Someone had to, right? I toyed with the idea he might be related to Carnifex because his scent was vaguely familiar but I didn't honestly care to ask. He didn't need to know I was taken if he couldn't already smell it on me and I wasn't going to enlighten him until AFTER my meal. I grin over my shoulder, my grin turning into a self-satisfied smirk as I look away, but then I hear paw steps pick up the pace and as I pause to glance back I see a white figure descending upon my back.

I gasp, loud and surprised, as he settles atop me. I know what is about to happen but this time my body does not respond, not the way it does with my beastly lover, and I try to dart from beneath him. His legs are tight upon my hips, crushing into my small bones, and his weight is stifling. I try to tuck my tail but it is too late and he violates me at the same moment his teeth gnash into my neck. I scream, a sound that is foreign to me, a sound I hope beckons my savior. That this all might be stopped before... But it is already happened. I snarl then, pain and fear and panic combining as I thrash beneath him. I feel blood trickling down my throat, his teeth inching closer to the bones in my neck as I do. He is powerful and he consumes me. My tiny legs shake beneath his vicious assault, my snarls turning to yelps of pain because he hurts me inside and out, and when he is done his muzzle leans close to my ear.

Kitten. I shiver - it is a word I would never allow another to call me again. I collapse the moment he shoves me forward and himself backwards and my tail wraps between my legs to my belly as I curl up, shaking. I whimper, glassy eyes watching as he strides away, sated while I am left cold and fearful. Would Carnifex, my beast, kill me now that another had claimed me?
