News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

ZAGAN
I AM NO DEMON
I AM A GOD

html (c) Alicia

A clouded winter day had kept me at bay for the time being. I did not like the snow, not at all, and when the sky vomited the flurries of white I only wanted to stay within my darkened catacombs. Raum had left my haunting grounds and Kairos was all but non-existent. For once I was truly alone. I did not mind it – I never imagined that I would – and I kept myself occupied by tracking down cave vermin and biding time until I visited the mountains again. I suppose the universe had another plan for me.

With a bloodied rat hanging limply from my pearly jaws I find myself confronted with one as pale as the snow itself. The look in her eye tells me she is here for a reason and her confident approach sends my hackles blazing into blackened spires. I do not fear her though I will do what must be done to preserve myself; instinct demands of it. It is when she has stepped close enough into my personal space that I can detect the heavy stench of the mountain wolves upon her pelt and the cogs in my twisted mind begin to turn.

Feral, amethyst eyes look upon her with an intensity rarely witnessed within a child as my mind works over these thoughts. My tail is raised and twitches every few moments in anticipation before my decision is finally made. I keep a hardened stare trained upon the older female as I begin to walk toward and past her, my attention shifting quickly to the entrance of the cavern as I make my way out. I am not planning an intricate escape, nor do I care to, and I am not going to fight her for the right to herd me away to her pack. In any other instance she would not have gotten away with it so easily, but I figured I could use this opportunity to my advantage. The sheep bringing the big bad wolf to their home? How ironic.

The travel there was no different than it had been the previous time I ventured to the foothills. The overlay of clouds had not yet dumped their heinous white flakes upon the earth and so for the time being I was what could be considered ‘content’. Though was a blood lusting beast ever truly happy in their life? The white female stopped before me as we crossed the strongly marked border and the stench nearly had me wrinkling my muzzle. Gem-like optics turn toward the female as she spoke though I offered no sign of understanding or even hearing her words – they were useless anyhow.

Her call rises into the gray splashed sky and soon thereafter comes two figures. One seemingly made of the sun itself and another all too familiar in scent and appearance. My eyes lay heavily upon the new one, the orange pelted male, as he looks at me too. My expression is faultless and my eyes betray no emotion that has settled deep within. I know he is judging me, I can see it in his eyes, he is determining whether my act is suitable for a more violent punishment or not. I do not care.

Upon the gray alpha’s approach her bristles as her eyes fall upon me; it is enough of a reaction to cause my own hackles to flicker to life once again as well. I remember well of how her larger form had pinned me to the earth in a dominant display before the whelps but she didn’t have the willpower to end me right there. She moves in upon the orange one, greeting him first with a nudge on his shoulder, before doing so with the white female as well. It is enough of a curiosity to have my eyes follow her in interest as she interacts with these other wolves, something I have never witnessed before. Mother had always been with Father when we were around but I rarely saw any form of affection being given and when it was it was also accompanied by flying fangs or blood being drawn. My world was very different from this one.

The black-masked alpha moved back to view the three of us, her attentions laying upon myself as she chose to speak as well, her words entering my ears and yet not inspiring a response. I had always heard Mother speak – Father was never really one for words – and all of her offspring spoke as well. All except me. In my brief time with Red Mother there were no words spoken as well but they could at least growl and bark. I was soundless and perhaps I wasn’t even alive. Everyone else saw me, felt me, but was I really here if I could not communicate with them? All I ever had were these thoughts to myself; at least I could hear me.

Silence rings like a bell between us all, only the far cry of a hawk breaking it as the moment passed. I had something to say only I could not say it and doing so would likely only anger Daenerys further. My thoughts screamed in the back of my mind, their voices growing hoarse from trying so hard to get me to utter the words. I simply stared at her with unbroken quiet.
