Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

STAND WHERE WE'VE BEEN

You ask where will we stand in the winds that will howl,
as all we see will slip into the cloud

It was not an entirely conscious sensation that pulled Viserion away from the mountain that chill winter evening. He'd been wandering farther and farther down the mountain all day, until finally he stepped across the borders and jogged off into the east with the sun quickly slipping out of sight behind the mountains at his back. With each passing month he grew closer to maturity, and at almost three years of age he had adopted the streamlined appearance that he would hold for the duration of his life. His face still harbored somewhat youthful curves, betraying his true age, but his molten gold eyes seemed wise beyond his years. Behind those eyes were a mind that never stopped working, the gears of thought constantly turning and revolving around a multitude of subjects all at once. But the more distance he put between himself and his home the more those thoughts honed in on one particular entity- his imprint. When the gathering he and his sister had hosted back in spring had begun to break up, the majority of the attendees beginning their treks back to their respective homes, Viserion had lost track of the tri-colored girl whom had so captivated his attention in the latter portions of the event. Now, with winter's snows weighing heavily on the landscape, the impending spring would mark a full year without him having sought out her individual company. Truth be told, Viserion had not fully realized the bond that had formed between them at first. It was only after he realized she was gone and how strongly he craved for her to return that he'd acknowledged just what had happened. He'd mused over it with his brothers, and had earned amused scoffs from Rhaegal. She was certainly not what the trio had envisioned for themselves in boyhood banter, but Viserion felt the urge to know more about her nevertheless.

Without the slightest idea of where to begin looking for her, the golden dragon simply followed his feet, trekking across the pristine white snow laden landscape. Twilight cast a dark purple haze across the lands as he stepped within the towering trees of Enocra. Almost as soon as he was completely engulfed by the darkness of the forest he knew this was not where he would find her. But his lack of previous exploration of the area held his interest. While the mountains of Spirane were plenty well wooded, Viserion had never been so completely blocked off from free flowing views of the sky. It was an odd sensation to him, and he found himself frequently glancing up to the darkened canopy above as he paced through the unknown woodland.

The overcast night skies seemed to refuse to give way to the stars, and so the darkness that grasped the land was true and all consuming. The moon only just peeked through the clouds, casting the softest of glows across the land that barely penetrated the uppermost tree branches. Viserion continued onwards, deeper into the hold of the forest. Golden eyes turned upwards once more, enraptured by the sensation of such utter darkness, and when he lowered his gaze to be mindful of where he stepped he found himself peering directly down a parting between the trees at a cream shewolf with her eyes cast upwards as his had been only moments before. Whereas he was dusted in white, she was traced in black. His white topped head tilted slightly to the side, curious what might have drawn her out in the hours of the night. Never shy when it came to making new acquaintances, Viserion righted his head and continued forward, sure that the female would hear him approaching. Despite being two years her junior they were nearly the same size, which the blonde boy realized as he came to a stop with a comfortable gap between them. Once more he turned his gaze upwards, though for a different level of fascination than hers. "It is beautiful, is it not?" The forest, the sky, the world; Viserion found appreciation in all the natural wonders of the world. His molten gaze fell back to her, a completely genuine smile adorning his features. The thought crossed his mind that he might be intruding upon time she desired to spend alone, and he searched her face for any reaction that would indicate such, for he would move along if she did not enjoy his company.
