holding on to what we used to be

Frustration tugged at me like an irritating pup who didn't know when enough was enough. Quixote was lucky to have Paisley, and while I had made the rounds of the Malodian wilds I had largely failed at meeting other wolves- males predominately. I could sink into the snow and fill the hole I leave with all the other males I know. Roman. Seamus is a sweet old codger, but he hardly counts between his age and status. Only the intimidatingly large Lucifer and the… admittedly dreamy Roman.
I had never been on a date before, I was told this would be a great way to meet other wolves with the added benefit of no romantic commitment! This sounded like just the thing I needed, but I found myself nervous as I trudged through the light, fresh powder on this beautiful morning. I couldn't help feeling like this might be a mistake, but I quickly pushed the feeling away when two figures appeared over the next hill.
I trotted up to the pair wearing a gleeful smile. Hello! Dawnlust? There were two there, neither of which I recognized, but both very pretty. I choose to direct my greeting to the silver wolf with the handsomely purple eyes, while casting a friendly smile to the strikingly-similar-looking girl to myself. I'm Coquette, here for the… date? I give a nervous chuckle, unsure what comes next in this sort of affair. It's nice to meet you both. I ah- I've never done this sort of thing before. What exactly are we supposed to do? I take a gentle seat with the other two in an attempt to settle myself down.
