Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

The weeks after learning about her parent’s death had been spent mourning and remembering them. The last few days had been spent thinking about her siblings, the ones she had barely known and the ones she never met. What were they doing now? Should she even try to find them? Would they know who she was? Probably not. What kind of a sister would they see her as? The kind that abandons her family to fulfil her own selfish desires, that’s who. How could she face them now? There were so many questions filling her head that she didn’t pay much attention to where she was going. At some point, she must have come to the deep forest because that’s where she found herself when she finally came back to her senses. Blinking in a moment of confusion, Gaia took a moment to gather her thoughts and get her bearings. The threes above creaked eerily as a gust of wind passed through the leafless branches. The sun was starting to set but the forest was already dark as the tall pines blocked the light of the dying sun. "Time to find somewhere to sleep," she sighed quietly to herself.

The woodland would make a great place to camp down and she wondered if she could find her parent’s old den. It had been so many years since the small family lived in the woods and she couldn’t even remember where their den had been. Shrugging sadly, she moved towards the sound of water, her throat suddenly parched from the days apparently long walk, only to find she was not alone. A male about her age stood lapping at the water until he noticed her approach and she gasped in shock. He had been so quiet and his scent had been taken away by the wind she hadn’t even known he was there. Brown and blue eyes looked at him and, if she could blush, she would have been dark red under her pale red coat.

He was quite handsome! But, was that just Winter’s lust? Isn’t that what happened when the cold took the earth? Wolves found one another to keep each other warm at night. She chuckled quietly to herself as she moved into the clearing. The water was too enticing for her to just turn and move on, though part of her wanted to. Avoiding his gaze, she stop when she was a few feet away from him and offered a small smile. "Good evening, sir. I hope you don’t mind if I join you for a moment. I’ve been walking all day and could use a drink before I find a place to sleep tonight."
