He was content; for the first time in a long time, the clouds seemed like friends again. It had become a bit of a custom for him to visit the lake these days, at first it had been to find burdock, but now he simply found that he enjoyed the waterside. When he arrived, however, the boy was surprised to find that it had frozen over. Viserys dipped his head down towards the ice, pressing his nose against it and feeling the cold, reeling backwards and stalking up and down the shore curiously for a few moments. He didn't think that he had ever seen the lake frozen over before, but then again he had not wandered near it for his past winters.
Viserys placed a paw on the ice, unsure if it would hold or not- could you even walk on this stuff? The slick surface was frigid beneath his pawpads and he took a few unsteady steps before he heard a loud crack. His head whipped to the side and he saw the source of it, a female looking to be around his age who looked absolutely terrified. He watched as she scrambled forward towards the island, looking backwards and seeing that the ice had simply been settling.
He chuckled, shaking his head slightly before calling out, "Are you alright?" Viserys picked his way slowly across the ice, much more gracefully than the female had, before finally finding his paws on dry land. It was a slight relief- walking across the ice had been more than a little bit unsettling. His tail gave a few wags when he found her, his teal eyes twinkling with amusement. Well, he wasn't meaning to make fun of her, but the display had been quite funny.
"I hope you don't mind the company, but I wanted to try my paw at crossing the ice, too." Viserys smiled warmly. He always enjoyed speaking to others, especially those that looked to be new arrivals to Moladion. "My name is Viserys. May I ask yours? And... does anything hurt? You had some, um... excitement, there."
