After his lengthy and wordy remark, Halcyon waits for Eden to make his choice. It was hard to keep himself still and composed, something the boy struggled with daily. He wanted to shuffle his paws in anticipation but they remained firmly in place. It takes a moment for the older male to answer and the cub can’t help but wonder if he had said something wrong. Was it right to mention that there was a chance the pup coming with him could die? Did he just blow up his only chance at helping the two packs start an alliance? But, the moment the grin spread across Eden’s face he calmed and watched the alpha with dark eyes.
The words he say makes Halcyon’s ears droop a little, but the moment is gone quickly. Does Eden not care about the life of his own child? Sure, the world was cruel and the strongest would always prevail (the ex-prince knew all about that) but sometimes the weak could use some help. Was it so bad to want to help them? Of course, he kept his thoughts to himself and his lips shut tight. The last thing he wanted to do was offend an alpha.
"Yes, my Lord. That will be just fine. He can come with me or meet me there. He is welcome to stay as long or as short as he likes.” The russet boy bowed his head and gave a small wag of his tail. He is eager to meet the cub, but does not assume he will come now. Though, he cannot hide the casual glace he cast into the pack lands. There weren’t many pups in Iromar and the ones who did live there were self-reliant and kept to themselves. He hadn’t had much chance to interact with them so it was no wonder he was excited to make a new friend. Of course, his mission came first and he knew that, but he couldn’t help but be hopeful that he might also have someone his own age to talk to for once. He waited for a moment to see what Eden would do next. If the alpha dismissed him, he would wait for the envoy to arrive in Iromar, however if he stayed than the boy would gladly escort him back to the swamps.
