GOD IS A PLACE WHERE SOME HOLY SPECTACLE LIES

The world had been quiet for the boy. The yearling's year had passed without much at all, and the stagnancy had upset him. But there hadn't been much to do- he was small still, just barely growing into himself, and there was only so much that Sleekwing could teach him at this stage in his life. And so he had mostly taken to the mountains or the free lands, exploring the wilds of Moladion that wolves hardly passed through. A grand adventure for one so young. But Isaac was homesick, and his den on the mountainside was lonely and cold at night, the rabbit pelts only providing for so much warmth.

Despite his more disgruntled attitude, Isaac missed his sister and mother, and there would always be a soft spot in his heart for his family. He was protective over them, but he was also frustrated with his small size and youth. Couldn't he just be a grownup already, so he could train and really get stronger? It was quite possibly the most annoying thing in the entire world, knowing that it would still be years until he could really protect those that needed it.

But for now, Isaac knew that he needed to see his family. Perhaps it was a fear of failure that had drawn him away and into himself, or a fear of inadequacy. Either way, it had been seasons since he had seen either one of them, and there was a fierce pain in his heart late at night when his mind drifted to thoughts of a warm den and a feeling of love. He narrowed his gold-and-blue eyes slightly, shaking those thoughts from his mind. Isaac, perhaps, would not get that back. But the least he could do was visit.

"Kirsi? Mother?" He called as he neared the den, noting that his sister's scent was strong but his mother's was weak. It sent a pang of fear through his heart. Where had she gone?
