Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

It never occurred to her that a healer could be less than pleasant. Honestly how could one be a healer and be grumpy or out of sorts with anyone unless it was further endangering them. Her dark tipped tail waved pleasantly while he was thinking about such thinks she thought for a moment a look of distaste might have appeared on his maw. She couldn’t fathom why unless he didn’t like his own healer, but a moment ago he seemed pleased with his work and the praises he had received. Soon he seemed to steer the conversation away from that and back towards the idea of her training him. That was fine, Zeltzin wasn’t too bothered with not being able to meet his healer, Hadrian, she thought he said, but she would focus on treating him to a quick lesson on the herbs she had with her and what they did and how they were used.

She was cheerful though at the thought of teaching an alpha how to heal. After all how many alpha’s actually knew how to heal? None, at all, Amoxtli knew the bare minimum of knowing Aloe does this and poppy seeds can do that but that was all and that was from just being around their mom. Dexter seemed to know more, but he didn’t do healing. She never had thought much about it though, curious about what he had learned from their mother but at the same time unsure if it was any different from what she had learned. He never seemed to be healing anyone, so it wasn’t that she didn’t think and when they spent time together they didn’t talk about those types of things. She shook the thought from her mind. It didn’t matter right now. What did was trying to do was teach this alpha to heal.

She watched as his lip twitched at her glee, giving her another reason to wave her tail. ”That’s okay,” she replied smiling, ”I understand just lead the way I’ll follow!” She grabs her bag just in time for him to say that he may know the place. Quickly she follows him towards the north western part of the pack, taking the opportunity to look at all the foreign sites of the lands along the way. It was so different to Taviora and even Asteraia, though there were certainly more open areas along the way than in the forest. She could tell when they arrived to the location. It simply looked cleaner and less sandy than the rest of the pack. Even the dirt was like sand here after all and at least up on the rock she could have her materials still be useable after this lesson. She smiled as she looked around pausing as he spoke in the tongue that she recognized immediately as Latin. She smiled, two could play it that way.

”Quemaca toncate.” She grins after he says it in English so that she may understand. ”Yes we are and it will.” She says quickly leaping upon up onto the rocks picking the one at the highest. For one so short she was very powerful and had the ability to make some fairly daring leaps to get there. Once she arrived she dropped her back and with her nose opened the edges of the pelt to make a little blanket of leaves and other assorted healing materials fold out over it. With her white paw she pushed the leaves that safely held the salves to the side and parted it from the moss and cotton she often used to cover wounds with.

”Let’s start with what’s most important. Cleaning. I use moss to clean out the wound and suck out any dried blood, or simply lick it clean if I have too. I think I heard your salt water is good for cleaning too. Once its clean you use this salve. Aloe vera is great for keeping infection out as well as relieving some of the pain of the wound. If you smell it the plant has a very unique scent similar to this. You can’t miss it. Its spiky and grass like but thick… when you break it open it has this salve inside ready to use. Just spread it over the wound once or twice a day, cleaning each time.” She explains cheerfully. It was all basic really. But this was just for basic wounds. It would take a very long time for her to explain more about how to take care of birthings and such and other smaller ailments. She figured he just wanted to know how to treat wounds and she still wasn’t done yet. It was just a start to their lesson.
