News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Even if we can't find Heaven

It was only appropriate that the quintet, after the many trials and tribulations they had already been through this year, be thrown one last test before they made it to their sanctuary. It had been a long journey for the siblings, taxing on all of them but especially so on the smallest of the bunch. Esmae was quietly leading them on their final stretch, the mountain of Spirane in their sights, when the storm hit. It took them all by surprise, moving in so quick they had no time to find shelter. They were engulfed in a flurry of snow, their senses smothered by snow as they helplessly pushed forward. The dark female had tried to convince the group to halt their journey temporarily and find a place to hunker down until the storm had passed and the sun had risen, but was quickly out voted by her siblings who were optimistic they could make it through the Hell before them. She would take no risks however, keeping her tiny brother close behind her so he could walk easily in the path she carved into the snow and making her larger brother Easton take their tiny sister Everly by her side. If something were to happen, atleast the runts had someone there to protect them.

Esmae used all of her strength to push against the force of the wind. The gold touched girl led the group with her sister Evie by her side. Everything around them was white. The howling of the wind stole not only their hearing but their sense of smell. It was extremely disorienting and pink eyes continually checked behind her to make sure her siblings were there and all accounted for. She could not afford to lose any of them, to lose even one in this storm may very well be a death sentence, especially to her smaller brother and sister; the cold would smother them if they collapsed and were left behind, bringing them to see their mother again far sooner than they were destined to.

Pink eyes shifted back behind her just in time to see that her little brother Easterly was falling behind. "EVERYONE STOP!" she yelled, her voice desperate to try and break through to her siblings. It felt weird for her to have to yell so loud, she was normally the quietest of the group, using words only when it was absolutely necessary. Quickly her black form turned and bounded up to her white brother, getting behind him to push him with her head and keep him moving. When she looked back up however, pink eyes widened in shock to see that the others were gone. They had kept moving on, not hearing her words over the wind. She was alone with her little brother Easterly and she had no idea where they were. "We have to keep moving, we'll find them when the storm passes. They'll be fine," she reassured him, trying to keep him as calm as possible in these moments.

She didn't exactly know how long they had been walking or how they got where they did, but the next thing she knew she was ushering the tiny, whimsical boy into a small, abandoned den. Esmae shook the white flakes from her pelt before curling up around her cold brother in an effort to keep him and herself warm as they slept through the night. she murmured as she stared out the opening of the dean at the blowing snow outside. Her mind was too shaken by the events and her current circumstances to figure out if she was still trying to reassure Easterly or herself. She was the leader of the group, and now her siblings were missing.

She awoke the next morning as light filtered into the tunnel, assaulting her eyes through their protective shields. Pink eyes fluttered open as she yawned. Her large form rose slowly as to not wake her brother and offer him as much sleep as he needed, his tiny form surly exhausted after the events of last night. She slipped out of the den quietly, eyes blinking as they adjusted to the morning light. When she was finally able to look around, she was amazed by what she saw. The had found their way just beneath the mountains, by a small pond that had frozen over in the cold air. Snow decorated the many bushes that surrounded them.

Ears flicked at the sound of movement nearby. Lightning struck eyes shot over to see a plump hare emerging from from a hole it had hidden away in overnight. Instinct kicked in and her black form crouched, immediately stalking over to it. Hunger drove her but also the desire to supply for her family. In a flash, she was n the rabbit, fangs snapping its neck and killing it with a small surprised scream. She carried it's lifeless body towards the opening of the den, plopping down on the soft snow. Esmae would wait for her brother to wake, allow him to eat his fill before finishing off what he did not, and then together they would make it to the mountain where they could get a search party going for their missing siblings.
