The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Roll Number 2
IP: 50.153.132.148

This will last one week until the last (final!) roll! It will run until January 1st.

Kershov's idea was a grande one - to force the cat to either address him full on, turn and run, or otherwise distract her from the attacks that Azula and Halina were trying to launch. His aim, however, was off just a bit, but it was enough such that his rolling form did not hit the fae cougar at all. Still, it did distract the ess enough, her eyes watching the brute carefully. The cougaress struck out at him, trying to swipe at his retreating form, but Halina, who had been able to go unnoticed and managed to land atop of the cougar, saved Kershov from being struck at all. Her jaws clamping down on the cougaress' scruff. However, though she landed some scratches on her, with the amount of moving she was doing, it was all that Halina could do to stay on. And so, instead of raking down the cougar's back, they dug into the flesh, holding Halina in place, and blood began to pour from the cougar's back.

The cougaress began to try to swipe Halina from her back, one front paw swiping at the ess and then the other, but Halina was in just the right spot and the great cat was unable to reach her. Azula's strike, which would have landed true, hit slightly off mark and instead tore into her shoulder, a great gash of bite marks that wrecked havoc on the muscle there. The female was nearly taken out - she was blind in one eye, off balance from her broken tail, and her maxilla was broken... But still she fought on. She would not give up her den - instead, she would fight to the death.

The brute was not fairing much better. Grey Wind managed to latch onto one of the cougar's hind limbs, tearing the Achilles and preventing it from acting as anything other than a crutch. The cougar howled in pain and tried to swipe at him but fell over, as he now had two legs out of commission. When the cougar turned around, he saw Mabbit coming at him and the cougar scrambled to his feet, managing to lunge forward enough to latch onto the brute's upper limb, his strong mandible clutching down until one of Mabbit's bones broke. The cougar released him and turned to run to his mate, and Mabbit's lunge for the brute, already set off by his broken leg, missed the jugular by a long shot, and instead he dug into the cougar's last remaining good shoulder. The fight was nearly over, the enemies nearly defeated... But would the pack members have the strength to finish the deed?

The female cougar - one blinded eye, broken maxilla, broken tail, damage to scruff, back, and left front shoulder

The male cougar - two injured shoulders, left front injured paw, left hind ruptured Achilles' tendon.
