It is rare that Brother would agree to what she wants. He was always different, always preferring her to leave him alone, but she could do no such thing. Not all the time. She understood that he was important to her, just like Protector and Provider, She of Red and White, Lonhro and Singe. With their scents always intertwined together, she knew and understood that they were meant to be together, they were important they were....family. Yes, this was the right word. Family. They were perfect, each of them were, but they were different so very different. She was quite observant. She noticed that She of Red and White never spoke at all. Singe and Lonhro spoke, broken speech, but also understood one another in ways she could not. Brother seemed very smart, so very smart, his speech was not broken. She tried understanding, she tried mimicking his words and tone at night, when he was fast asleep and the older wolves were out hunting. She could not grasp it, she could not understand, and she was too prideful to ask her other half for help. Pride – one of the many faulty traits she inherited from her Father. She knew she was different, she knew this, but she didn’t know how to fix it.
Though for now such thoughts were dashed away. Her focus on her Brother and the dead deer she was proud to show him. Emerald eyes, touched with her Mother’s sapphire specks, gleamed with mischief as her dark and silver chest puffed out proudly. Indeed this was the toy she wished to show her dear Brother. As he gets closer to the carcass, she follows quietly allowing him to do what he wished, for she brought him to this toy, his toy...their toy. She wanted to impress him. She did not understand why she had such a desire to make her Brother happy, to make her Brother want to be at her side, but she felt this warm tingly sensation buzz in the back of her head and trickle down to her heart. Dark tail traced with silver swayed side to side in a joyful manner, as he places his paws upon the deer, pressing down on it. She had already played with the dead animal herself, allowing herself to learn what she wished to know about dead things, finding it all fascinating in a weird and twisted way. Though she wished to partake in play with her Brother.
The coolness of the grass underneath her dark paws felt all right, her small body bowing to him, all in a play bow, for she could never bow and submit to him – or any other creature save Provider and Protector. Angelic face holds such an eager look on it as she waits for her Brother, her dark green eyes holding so much optimism, hoping her Brother will indulge with play. She loves her Brother. She cares for him. They were together before they opened their eyes, he was the first thing she saw when her eyes opened for the first time, and she wanted nothing more than to make him happy. Not all the time would he play, but she hoped that somehow something changed today and would help make her Brother play. For a moment she stayed in this position, her banner waving happily, but she would begin to doubt herself when he just stared at her. It was when she saw his legs bend and his body go into the playful position did she yelp thankfully- excited that he would finally play with her. As he lunges towards her, she exclaims loudly his name in a joyful manner.
“Brother”
He was male and he was growing faster than she was. With a playful bark she tries to propel herself forward too, but he is much quicker and he crashes into her. Yet she is small, she is agile, and he uses this to her advantage. When his body crashed into her own, she would fall to the ground, and feel his body above her own. She was a dominant creature and she would not allow herself to submit, so, she scampered underneath him between his bottom legs, quickly turning around and clamping her puppy teeth into his hock, as playful puppy growls ruptured from her tiny shadowy form. A shriek of laugher coming from the happy Princess of Asteraia. Her troubled mind ceased to bother her as she focused solely on the joy by playing with her Brother.
