Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

We are all fallible. None of us were perfect in any since of the word, but I have come a long way from the child filled with hate and loneliness that I once was. Believe it or not, my dislike of Fenrir had lessened as I got older, more, I suppose not understanding but neutral and accepting of my fate of what happened. I supposed that changed even more so when finally mother came to me, beaten and elderly but alive rather than dead like how Fenrir told me. I wonder if he knows she’s still alive, wonder if he cares now that he has Natu and a slew of children with her. Plenty of replacements for his old life in this new one he had created for himself. It’s not like I expect him to go back to her, but he deserves to at least know she’s still alive.

I see him head on, aged, and greying just like mother but still alive and well it seemed. I was looking for him, so it was a stroke of luck I think that I find him out in the free lands and don’t have to take myself all the way to Glorall. He says my name; his voice is old and quiet. It seems weaker like he’s not in good health as I initially expected. I am not sure what to think now. I look him over with my deep forest green eyes. Taking in his appearance. I am no healer, I can’t tell if he has some ailment I can’t see, but something feels… off somehow about him.

”Fenrir, it is good to see you. I guess the rumors I heard were true you and Natu have joined Glorall. I hope it is nice there.” I say though I don’t want to beat around the bush, it is still within me to be cordial to those I say hello too and create some level of small talk. I am curious though how he is doing there, and how Natu is doing as well. She always wanted a family I hope she’s happy with Fenrir.

”I was looking for you for a reason. Doe is alive. She now lives in Spirane with a few children of hers. I thought you should know, might ease some past pains.” I say in my song like tones. ”She’s worst for wear. Has problems walking and scars are all over her body but there are terrible ones on her face. You should see her. She believed you were dead too. I think even though you both seemed to have moved on that it would do good for you to see each other before… something happens.” Again I don’t know why I care, perhaps its some selfish bit of me that wants to see them see each other. My parents together, something I thought I would never see ever again.
