god is a place where some holy spectacle lies

She sat, still and quiet, before the scent of another drifted across her path. The woman's head turned sharply, ears pricked forward and eyes narrowed. Eleanor saw the other and watched her stand between herself and a nearby cave, bristling as if she was protecting something very dear to her. The slate-grey wolf's hackles raised slightly and she stood, her tail raising slightly. Considerable when she rose to her full height, Eleanor cut a dominating figure, and while she was not outwardly hostile, it was clear that she was taking the more assertive position in the situation.

Perhaps some residual male-ness had been left over, the need to domineer, to be in control still remained. And winter was in full swing as were her hormones, which only made her more... aggressive. It annoyed her tremendously, to be bent to the whim of the male psyche, but it wasn't exactly something that she could control. Eleanor stared the other woman down, head cocked slightly, feeling out the situation. She doubted that the other would appreciate being put in a place of submission, but Eleanor had always been the one to take control of a situation. And she didn't necessarily appreciate the overt hostility over a cave that she wasn't even planning on entering.

After a few moments, Eleanor's hackles fell and her tail lowered. "What," she began, her voice a deep yet feminine tenor, "did you think I was going to go in there, or something?" She did not approach the wolf nor did she retreat, and her dual-toned eyes left the female for a second to glance past her and into the cave.

"Whatever you are hiding, or protecting, I have no interest in." Eleanor said flippantly, raising an eyebrow. It was truly foolish to assume that she would want to go into a cave in the cold of winter, or go into a cave at all really. Her tail gave a little flick and she settled her gaze once more upon the stranger. She was not one for company, but she would not take her leave quite yet.
