Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

I look up when I hear another approaching, my tail wagging and ears pricked toward the older male now approaching. He smells of Glorall so he must be a pack mate, just one I haven't met yet. This is good a time as any! "Hey, who are you?" I call out to him, wanting to know everyone's name. I watch in puzzlement as the wolf sits by the wolf I'm trying to play with, leaning in to swat at her silently but he doesn't say a word. What's up with that? Not wanting to be put off by his silence, I give him a big grin and swat at him too, just so he feels involved.

When I hear more coming, I turn my head to take in the two wolves coming our way. Neither smell of Glorall so at first I scowl in concern but with another whiff, I smell that they have the same scent on them as the two wolves before me. "Do you know each other? I ask anyone in particular. I watch one wolf nudge another before seating himself on the outer edges of the group. That just won't do. I want everyone to be involved! I go over to him. "Hey, what's your name? Are you a story teller too?" Then I look at the girl he was nudging. "What's your name? Is he your brother?"

And then my sleepy head sister arrives and I get successfully distracted from the others. She was so silly, glaring and yelling at me like I would be scared. She knows better of course. Even though she had to save me from the river, I'm still even afraid of water. I laugh when she tells me it'll be exciting. "More exciting than that time we dug up a rabbit with Abel? Or the time we raced after a beaver at the river? Or that other time..." It's obvious that I could go on and on if you let me. Luckily she's looking away now. I smirk when she introduces herself to everyone. Seeing that she's being shy, I go over to nudge her shoulder playfully, just my way of reminding her that I'm here for her.

I nod when Sorcha says the story will be exciting. I sure hope so. I get bored easily. I notice when she greets the other wolf as Rhaegal, the wolf my sister was just staring at like he's some kind of experiment. What's up with her? I scowl and look at him again. Did I miss something? She calls the girl Moonfeather. When she asks if we're ready, I nod my head, my tail wagging as if to show her just how ready I am.

Instantly, I'm enthralled. My eyes widen, already liking this Peter character. What's wrong with boasting? I like to tell everyone how brave I am and how strong I will be some day. But when the spirit turns the cougar into a moose, I gasp out loud and push my shoulder into Sam as I draw back in horror. How could they do that to him?! To never be a hunter again and to become the prey! They might as well have killed him! My ears flatten and my lips curl back in protest. Those circle people are so mean! I'm glad they're just in a story!

When the story turns to the young moose who has lost her mother, I grow sad, thinking of how he should have been protecting the girl, not trying to push her away. I glance at Sam out of the corner of my eyes, thinking of how shy she is and how I want nothing more than to keep her safe always. She is my sister and I will always protect her. My eyes widen again when the girl doesn't return and the moose grows fearful for her. Oh no, what could have happened?! I'm glad he chose to go after her and when the girl is surrounded, I clench my jaw in fear for their lives. Sorcha takes a deep breath and I lean in even further. I must know what happens next!

But Taika has distracted me, telling me she is not the lady my mother told me about. I scowl, confused. "What other kinds of ladies are there?" I do not remember my mother telling me of the different kinds. My eyes widen, clearly shocked that she could know faeries. I am reassured though that I won't hurt her since I would never try to hurt someone on purpose. Only if they're trying to hurt someone I care about. Maybe then I would try to hurt them, but only hurt. "Okay!" I call out before launching myself at her, aiming to tackle her front left leg and chomp on it a little, not actually trying to bite, just nip. When the other boy swats at her, she falls over and I scowl. He can make her fall over with just a swat of his paw? Surely she should be stronger than that! I go over to nudge at her with my nose as she howls. "Are you okay?" I even glare at the boy a little in scolding.

Then I see her pawing at the air with a grin and I look at the boy with a grin of my own. "Let's get her!" I call out before I launch myself at her tender underbelly, trying to use my claws to tickle her stomach while I try to nip at her back right leg this time.
