Laca court diminsions almost finalized Posted on December 29, 2015 at 01:21:08 PM by Jeff "Laca" Conway
The new Laca court dimensions have been finalized by Anthony's Point West Engineering.
The courts overall dimensions will be 111' x 35' making the playable width 24'-25' wide and 109' long. The out of bounds area will be 9'-10' wide. The court will be close to 24' high.
There will be one quirky part of the court, but it should not be an issue. In order to gain the extra 3 or so feet in width, the front wall out of bounds area (in the 1 and 2 line areas) will be angled to stay away from the driveway roundabout more. Revised drawings will be posted on the home page when available.
We came in just a couple feet short of Matt's court on the length, but this court will be more proportional with the width and height of the walls exactly the same as a pro court.
The roof will likely be built with a corrugated metal instead of the canvas type previously mentioned.
As soon as the revised drawings are complete (the first round was all done a year ago), they will be submitted to the county for re-approval. Once that step is finalized, the groundbreaking ceremony and construction will begin.
With a state-of-the-art designed cancha that is outdoors and covered from the the hot sun and rain, players will have a truly amazing place to play. The court will feature a 65" "Magic Mike" Scoreboard, live camera and "TV" coverage. Tournaments and league action will be the norm with an emphasis on finding new players. There will be a one level players cage, which is still under design, but it should be about 8-9 wide and 15'-20' long.
