aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The first two wolves who heeded her call were, to her memory, two of the ones who had received the greatest amount of injury. Kalgalath, Chenzii, and Sebring had all been seriously injured on the first wave of attacks... Injured, but unlikely the two who had hailed from Saw Tooth, still alive. Even injured as they were, they had continued to fight until all of the intruders were dead to a T. The smartest thing to do would have been to tend to their wounds immediately, but all in the pack had been taken unawares - they had needed time to process and begin to heal internally before dealing with their physical wounds. Many of those present had never killed a varg before, Hellene included, and others of the wolves had never even witnessed another varg's death. It was a scarring moment in their lives to be sure.

Hellene instructed Sebring to walk to the nearest tree, for Hellene would have to use force and not finesse to replace the femoral head. Kalgalath had moved to her side for support and Hellene was glad that he did - she would need it. **replace limb**

After a probable scream or at least whimper from Sebring, Hellene noticed Magic approached and she whined softly, a smile upon her face, her plume wagging slowly. 'Hello, Kal, Hellene. I’m truly sorry I didn’t introduce myself at an earlier time. I’m Magic. Pleasure to meet you, but I wish it was under better circumstances.' Hellene greeted her softly, "I am only glad that you are well, Magic. Now let me have a look at you." Hellene left Sebring and Kalgalath's side, and looked over her friend. Luckily, the eboness was not too bad for the wear. 'I miss our talks, Kal. Have you been well?' Hellene ignored the idle chatter and went to work - that was, after all, why she had called all of them here, not for the social aspect of it all, but rather for the logical reason. Before amassing them, she had brought out all of the stores that she had collected and had intended for them to last the winter... But it looked like she was going to run out sooner than she had intended. The timberess chewed up the dried moss, all of it, and added in some ginger and poppy to the concoction so that they would act locally. She then applied the little she needed to all of Magic's various wounds, covering them entirely. Grimly, she nodded before turning back to Kalgalath, although he needed much more poultice to adequately cover the gaping wound on his shoulder.

Chenzii was the next to arrive, and she walked with so profound of a limp that she was hardly bearing weight on all on her injured front limb. Chenzii moved immediately to Magic's side, leaning against her and nuzzling against her. The two wolves - Chenzii and Magic - looked so similar that they could be sisters. However, the main difference between the two now was the injuries that they had sustained. Magic had managed to get away with scrapes and bites... But by the swelling, bruising, and blood covering Chenzii's limb, it looked like her leg was broken. "Oh my dear friend..." Hellene ushered her to the ground to examine it, palpating it softly with her nose. Luckily, the break was not compounded, and would heal in time. "Chenzii, my friend, you have to keep off of your leg and move as little as possible for the next few weeks. You will need poppy and ginger as well... Hmm you could benefit from chamomile too... And licorice and perhaps white willow if I can find some. Lavender to keep you calm... I'm afraid you will be getting visits from me far too often, my friend." Hellene was cut off, however, when a ivoress collapsed against her.

Hellene smiled softly and turned to her daughter. To be honest she had thought that Khaleesi would have spent the nights in Hellene's den after the battle, but she had not. Her daughter truly was grown up. "Hello, my love. Are you quite alright?" After talking to her daughter, she turned to all who were there. "Magic, Kalgalath - both of you need to see me every day for your daily dose of poppy and ginger. Sebring, you will, I suppose, only need poppy. If you need more herbs for pain management than that, just let me know and I will gladly get you something more powerful from my stores. Actually just to be safe, I will get you some chamomile too to help relax your muscles." The fae moved to her stock of herbs and picked out what each wolf needed and placed them before them. "Return to me each day and I will give you more. And for Tor's sake, all of you need to rest!"
