The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

She did not understand what he was doing here. Her mind did not grasp simply staring into such an area. It was dark with but the faintest of light allowed in through the rocks, there was not much to see here and certainly not much to eat. She knew that what is hers once lingered here and that is what she searches for now, but sometimes one does not find what one is searching for. Sometimes, one finds things that triggers a source of interest and a drive for a reaction. That is what Flare did not, sensing the weakness within another and the oddness of his natural aura.

He does not seem to notice her, and this only heightens her drive towards him. She does not understand how one could be unaware, wrapped up in the darkness. She knew she initially approaches with a quite step but she was always keen on paying attention to the slightest difference in the air- and not brushing it off as nothing. When he does finally notice her, her red lava pools stay honed in on him, reading him carefully like a flesh book. It was up to him if she merely read his story or went into a rage and ripped all the pages out.

She tested him with false lunges, seeking to see if he was driven to live and strong enough to handle the trials of what is life. His stiffness was initially not satisfying, teeth bulging from her lips with her snarl. His form shrink back as her hackles only raise higher, her head raised in dominance as he dare to then push forward- something his aura was hesitant to do initially.

She does not move backward with his reaction, but instead sideways. Her white paws did not inch towards him, but around him in an odd pacing of sorta around him. He steps closer again and it causes her lips to roar and then close again. Her ferocity was less so now, but still there, like a dull roar of a fire instead of a blaze. His lips twitch over his teeth, his aura had changed but was it only a momentary thing?

In her pacing back and forth around him, her head never turns away from him. She keeps her lava pools piercing on the younger male, slivers of silver light playing in his burning orbs when she pauses once again, although her tail sways behind her still high. She licks her lips, a low growl still rumbling in her throat, with her hackles falling slightly, and she does nothing more than that and stand. She pushed for a reaction from him, and she got now. Now she pushes for him to initiate- by doing nothing but staring him down eye to eye.
