Luckily for Morrigan, cougars were not tandem hunters. Upon seeing each other, the two cats hissed and growled, slowing to a pacing lope instead of a dead sprint. The woman turned curiously, watching the cats stare each other down. Her inky eyes left the cougars briefly and turned towards the male who had warned her about the other cougar. "Looks like they're more interested in each other than in me." She jested before watching as the newly arrived cat turned tail and ran, clearly disinterested in fighting over prey that probably wouldn't taste very good anyway. The other turned it's sights on her once more and she took off at a sprint once more, relishing in the excitement of the chase.
Morrigan wondered briefly if the other male followed her, but with the cougar breathing down her neck she had little time to think of him. From what she had seen he had been ugly and scarred, but the girl had never put much stock in outward appearance. Her head turned backwards briefly to see the cat nearly upon her, and she combated with another burst of speed. She dodged rocks and boulders along her way, eventually coming to a creek which she splashed through, coating her pelt with cool water.
The cougar eventually gave up the chase, prowling away, but the adrenaline was still coursing through her body. Morrigan breathed heavily as she shook the water from her pelt and sat, regaining her stamina. She glanced around, looking for the male who had warned her. He, perhaps, had lost interest, but she liked to believe that she had put on quite the show.
"Hey, you see that?" She called out into the air, wondering if he would emerge from behind a rock like he had when he had first appeared. "I don't often tangle with cougars, but I couldn't resist."
