Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

visenya

She had to admit, it felt strange to see her new companion so… so very bothered. It felt wrong almost and yet, she had made her decision and now she had to deal with the consequence of that. Never had it crossed her mind that it might stir up the memories of the attack – Visenya had been caught up in the moment, unable to remember at such a time that the girl had even suffered through it. After all, she just seemed so happy and carefree. It felt odd to admit that something like that had happened at all, really. Perhaps, in a way, Visenya had been afraid to admit that something like that could have happened at all, especially under the watch of her mother and father.

Still, she had been caught up in play even then and so, she had bounced up the moment Samus had begun to crawl forward. She had sprung onto her paws with a yip, her tail ecstatic behind her – only when she realized that she had not been met with the same excitement did she pause. It was then that her tail dropped between her legs, her mouth in an ‘o’ of uncertainty as her brows furrowed deeply. It didn’t make sense to her and so, she had fallen into silence before the word Spirane had brought her back with a shake of her head. ”Oh… yeah! Spirane,” her voice had begun dazed before regaining some of its usual pep, though she eyed Samus with a combination of curiosity and confusion, ”I’m… okay, really. I just wanted to, y’know, trick you.”

It felt silly to admit it and she looked down at her paws shyly, her tail flopping lazily behind her then with a half-baked attempt at an apology. She still felt bad, after all, after having seen her new friend in such a submissive position. It didn’t feel right – even for a princess! She didn’t like the idea of others being like that around her because of her own actions. It felt… evil.

”We can still go back to Spirane if you want to, though,” she forced a grin, stepping forward after having waggled her ‘injured’ paw to prove its usefulness – after all, she still wanted to accept the girl’s shoulder! It felt like a game in itself. Maybe they’d be able to trick a healer and get a glimpse at all the strange flowers and plants they had! That was… if she still wanted to play… ”Did I scare you? I’m sorry, I didn’t meant to. Really! I just thought it’d be clever. You know, lure you back here… then spring on you!” She clamped her mouth shut and winced, aware that she had just started to babble in an effort to back peddle over her mess up. For now, she just had to refocus and try again, right? Try not to mess up the game next time. ”I’m Visenya,” she replied quietly, still heavy with guilt as she leaned into Samus.
