VODNIK

SPACIOUS ARE THE GOBLIN'S COURTS
OF WEALTH HE HAS TO FILL;

Where Anonymous has dealt with his own demons by retreating into himself, Vodnik has done the opposite. He seeks the distraction of others to keep him from the insecurities inside. His claim on the Ridge is just one of Vodnik's many failed attempts to soothe the neglected colt he was. This fertile and wild terrain is quite an aquisition. The ownership of such makes hm feel powerful, but power can't satisfy the hunger inside. Vodnik can surround himself with bachelor comrades or more mares than he can breed in one season, but Vodnik is the only one who is truly alone.

No two stallions could be more different. Like night and day set fire to the horizon when they meet, these two set fires of their own. They clash in a whirlwind of angry eyes and feathered feet.

Satisfaction rises in his chest when Vodnik feels the fold of skin catch between his teeth and the other stallion's lesser weight yield to the moving force of his own. As the black stallion stumbles sideways, Vodnik turns to stay close, moving behind the other stallion just as he kicks out. It is the close proximity that lessens the severity of the blow. Vodnik feels the sharp jab of a pair of hocks in his rib cage. He lets out a quick breath, but otherwise hides any pain he may have felt.

Instead, he continues his assault without pause. He turns to chase his retreating opponent with teeth gnashing at the air between them. Vodnik's great haunches propel him forward as he charges, and broad hooves cut deep gouges into the soft earth.

The other turns to face him now, so Vodnik aims another bite for the stranger's shoulder, and again, throws all his weight into his attack, aiming for a second body slam.

Vodnik uses this move quite often. In fact, he relies upon it. His weight and size are his greatest assets. Roughly shoving his opponents around is often enough to overwhelm and exhaust them. Knocking them off balance prevents them from dealing retaliating blows that are as accurate or forceful as they could be. And being close to his opponents means he rarely receives the full force of each blow. He gets a lot of knees and hocks and kicks cut short, but that's the extent of it. These leave him bruised and aching days after the skirmish, but have yet to do enough damage to truly slow him down.

BUT GUESTS WHO VISIT THEM
STAY AGAINST THEIR WILL.
