Mismatched eyes widened at his statement. It was not as though she tried to find the herbs and plants that tended to make her sick, it just happened. Her mother always came home smelling of various things and she could not decipher which smells meant what. When she learned on her own she learned quickly, and thoroughly, which things to avoid. Whenever she tried new things she did always eat just enough to get a sense of what it would do to her. Thor’s words scared her though. What if it would not take much? She whined softly, panic flickering in her young heart. She wasn’t ready to die! Maybe she should stop eating weird things…
At the prospect of games and play, her momentary worry about her impending doom was instantly forgotten. She was stunned that he had never played water monster even though he grew up on the beaches of Glorall! Her grin split her face and her voice yipped happily. “Of course I will show you how to play! It is one of the most fun games!” Her white body bounded in front of him into the sands, making a b-line towards the waves. She slid to a halt when he stopped. At first she steps to hide behind tall grass that dotted the shores, wanting to watch him hunt the crabs from a safer distance. But when he asked for her help she was all too happy to assist. Tail wagging above her she trotted around the crab, play bowing and growling at it. Every movement toward her it made she jumped back with a laughing rumble from her throat.
Everything happened so fast! Thor pounced, yelped, and jumped on the creature. The sight was hilarious! Instead of growling at the offending crab, Inanna’s voice turned to giggles. The look on his face turned the giggles into a cascade of laughter. “You killed it!” She gasped through her breath. “You snapped it in half!” Getting control of herself she jumped forward and snatched it from his paws. Careful with her teeth and her claws she pried the shell off the meaty body, leaving only flesh exposed. Next she turned to the claws, ripping them off the body. Pleased with herself, she nudged the majority of the carcass back at Thor, as well as the claw that grabbed him so offensively. “Your spoils, mighty warrior!” With a wag of her tail she sat and crunched once on the claw she had claimed. She used just her very front teeth to pull out the tender meat. Eating the crabs was just as challenging as killing them. But they were one eating adventure she had never regretted.
