aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

~I hope you smile when you look down on me~

The ashen fea felt like a pup again, the rough warmth of Kalgalath’s tongue sweeping over her fur bringing her back to a time when life had been so much simpler. A soft gentle voice coaxed her silently, an ease of mind coming over her. Her limbs had begun to flex and her back curled into Kalagalth’s stomach. Her undercoat had begun to dry with each sweep against her fur, the once cool air had warmed with the existence of their two bodies in such a small space. A sudden stinging sensation swept over her hindquarters and trunk area, she whimpered quietly but laid still. The silence finally broke as she found the conscious to talk aloud and the muscles in her jaw found the strength to move. Her lover did not interrupt her, he just nuzzled her gently before continuing to clean her neck and face. She leaned into the warmth of his touch, her honey optics lolling back to see Kalgalath’s icy oceans looking into her pools. I know, my dear. I never thought to tell you about her, because in truth there was nothing to tell. After Zig betrayed me and I exiled her, I fell into a depression and nearly gave up the throne. I thought myself worthless if my own mate could not remain loyal to me. In that time, my son, Rohan, died, and my adopted daughter Blayre grew up and grew away for me. In fact, I believe she had left the pack all together. But I just got so lonely, and when I met Hocus, I found someone to talk to. But the wolf that I met was kind and sweet, not the monsters us bitch that we saw. We only ever talked, and never spent a single night together. Soon after, I met you, and I never saw her again until the other day.

Sebring watched his oceans, the flicker of emotion through their depths and across his façade. His voice dipped and rose through the speech, the emotion so telling and truthful. But it was not the change of tone in his voice that made her believe him, it was his body language. The tensing of muscles and change of position, the little shifting motions that she would not have noticed had she not been so attuned to her mottled knight. It was for that reason that the undeniable faith and trust she had in him, told her that he was being truthful. It had never been that she didn’t believe him, but rather it was regaining that trust. Sebring’s love for Kalgalath was product of these thoughts and emotions ebbing and flowing together, it was like pieces of a puzzle right into place. It would be moments like this that tested her love of Kalgalath, but with their sensibility, truth and trust with each other it would be possible to do anything. And when she spoke those three words, she had meant to encompass each one of these ideas and emotions.

Sebring felt a heat rise up in her cheeks, And I love you, Sebring. Their crowns pressed together simultaneously, it was a picturesque moment. I want you in my life, Sebring, for the rest of my rule, the rest of my life, the rest of eternity. I want you at my side, helping me rule, helping me live. I want you... To be my betrothed. My mate. My queen. As the words drifted to her audits Sebring felt an unbridled joy rise up in her chest, she had found everything she ever needed or wanted. She had Kagalath, her mottled knight. I would love nothing more than to spend life by your side as your Queen. But more than that I would be overjoyed to spend my life with you as your mate, my love. Her tongue swept up the side of his cheek to the base of his aud. Sebring placed a gentle kiss at the corner of his brow and smile lifting her rose lips.

The ashen lady turned her crown taking in their compact little den, the sound of the river rushing by entering through the den entrance. She smelled the blood around them and realized Kalgalath’s pelt was coated in it. Sebring gasped slightly, Kalgalath… your shoulder! She reached her neck around and moved just enough to get to the wound. Her tongue licked away the blood and dirt around the area before she moved in to clean the wound itself. She was gentle, trying not to dig into the already deep wound. She had no herbs with her but she pushed the skin back together with her nose. She held it there until a fresh layer of blood clotted over and held the wound semi-closed. What a mess we are. She laughed quietly. They looked like stowaways, packed tightly together, cleaning away the blood and dirt from their most recent battle. It Would not have occurred to anyone that these two were the Alphas of Aurora Borealis.

"They’re only baby scars," She whispers.
