The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Summer’s paws stepped into the cold water as he turned to look over his shoulder at the pup. He was surprised that she had not followed him in as she had been following him through the trees of pack’s territory so far. When he figured out that she did not like the water he did not scold her or make fun of her as some would do, but instead offered to teach her how to swim and fish, but she was still uninterested. His offer would remain though if she ever changed her mind, and the darkly colored femme nodded her head in understanding. She had made it clear that she had no interest in this water, so Summer stepped out of it and padded back over to her on the dry land. He knew it would be best not to push her to do something she did not want to, and instead decided that he would show her where pack meetings were held. He knew that even though she was young, she would still be able to benefit from pack meetings and learning early on how things were run. He would expect that it would over her head when they would talk about politics and other things, but if she was exposed to it early on then it would help her learn more and understand more as she aged. Little did he know that she was smarter than the average pup and would have no trouble following along with pack meetings when they next one was called. She was already scheming on her own and with Shae, but Summer only saw her as an innocent and young pup, a pup that was now his own.

The pair walked through the trees together, not chatting much as silence fell between them. He did not want to press her to find out anything she may remember from her puphood. Summer knew that there was no way that she would remember Lady, her mother, but a part of him wanted to know about the sister that he had lost not only once but twice. He had already come to terms with her death once, and it was even harder to do a second time. But at least he had Nzingha with him now. Had a reminder of his family that he had lost and he was no longer alone as he had been recently in Bright Moon. The pair remained silent until they reached the clearing where he held pack meetings and he was surprised when she thanked him for showing her around. Summer smiled warmly at her, ”You are quite welcome. Do you have any questions about anything so far?”

As they talked about pack meetings and Bright Moon conversation turned to their own family, as Summer knew that it would, but it still was not easy for him to talk about his sister and her death. Even though it had been years since the war that had destroyed his home pack and family, he still missed them all and wished there had been something he could have done. But Nzingha was a part of this family and she deserved to know what had happened, even if he thought she still might be too young. The pup had already gone through a lot though, and because of it she had been required to mature and grow up a lot more quickly than most. The young pup continued to nod in understanding as he spoke about both the pack and their family, but remained quiet and did not ask questions for a few moments while he spoke. The pair had gone back to walking through the trees as conversation moved from the pack to their family, and when Summer spoke of Grey Wind in Abendrot, she paused her stride as if this information was important to her. He was not sure why it would be, but maybe she was just surprised to find out that there was another living relative in their family. He cocked his head at her, waiting to see if she would ask anything else of him as she seemed to react to this more than anything else they had spoken about so far.

“So is he… your… our only remaining family then?” She spoke quietly, as if she was nervous to ask him. Summer did not want her to feel nervous and hoped that she would feel more comfortable with him as time went on, especially when it came to finding out about her own family and blood. ”As far as I know yes. I did not know he was alive until recently when he and Kershov, the alpha of Abendrot, came to visit Bright Moon. I would not have known that Lady, your mother, was alive if Shae had not come and told me.” The male stiffened a bit as he said the female’s name. Even though she had brought him the news, the arrogant and entitled way that she acted and spoke infuriated him, but that could not be helped. ”Would you like to meet him?” The words were out of his mouth before he could process what he had just said. He guess subconsciously he knew that Nzigha had every right to meet her uncle, and really Summer did miss him, even if he had changed. And himself and Kershov had never speaking of the relationship that Bright Moon and Abendrot would have from here on out. But the thought of taking one as young as Nzinga to that pack made him nervous, though he could not take the words back now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once Summer spoke to Nzingha about conditions in which he would allow her to come, they set off. Abendrot was not far from Bright Moon’s borders and he knew it would not take them long to arrive, but he kept them at a slow pace in case the younger femme had any questions before they arrived. His fur stiffened as the scent of Abendrot reached his nares, and he glanced at Nzingha briefly before padding forward to the edge of the borders. He made sure that she did not get too close and accidently cross, not wanting to give Kershov any reason to be upset with them. He then tilted his head to the sky and let out a howl for not only his brother and the alpha, but also anyone else that was around. It would be beneficial for Nzingha to see new wolves and the true politics with dealing with other packs.
