~I hope you smile when you look down on me~
The ashen lady hadn’t thought words could inflict so much emotion unto one heart. She had never wanted any brute, like she wanted Kalgalath. No man had ignited the flame in her heart that the Alpha had managed to do with such few words. His deep, husky voice and smoldering features were to die for… to live for. At some point my love, I still have to do my duty by you as well. She couldn’t help the rush of blood in her cheeks, the flaming heat that had consumed her face and bodice. Every moment away from him was cold, but the time spent in his embrace was well worth the wait. He brought out a deep longing in her that she had never known to exist. And whether her mottle lover knew it or not, he would be the first and last man she’d lay with. Kalgalath was her first love, first lover… he would be a first to many things in her life, including a stable home and life. He was a brute that she would entrust her heart and life too as well as give it to save him.
Sebring’s eye lids fluttered open, her honey optics very blurred and sleepy. There was a breath of air against her nape and she smiled feeling the warm embrace of Kalgalath around her. Her ashen crown turned slightly to kiss him lightly on the brow, as she always did. She wiggled out of his grasp taking care not to wake him, it was one of few times where the lady had woken before her knight. She turned her head over her shoulder and took a last look at Kalgalath before going out of their cave entrance. Mossy entanglements brushed out her coat as she slid out into the early morning light, her pupils shrinking to block out the light before they readjusted so she could see the world around her. The snow was still blanketing the ground and her pads had begun to freeze as she padded through the snow to a little alcove where she had stored prey earlier in the season. She dug down through the snow to see the preserved, icy meat. She hooked her claws into a rabbit and pulled it out. She picked out another one for Kalgalath before heading back to the den. Her head poked back in through the moss to see her sleeping lover. She padded in and placed the rabbit just a few pawsteps away from his nares. Her own meal had devoured before she came back. She smiled at his sleeping form, the slow rise and fall of his chest signaling his deep sleep. He had needed it more than any wolf. Sebring turned away and head down to and through the ravine. She had no set destination, but she didn’t care.
It was within the hour that she arrived at the mating dens. She had to laugh at herself, was she telling herself something..? Her cheeks turned a deep red, she’d dreamt of having a family long before she met Kalgalath, but after the fire she had shoved away any hope she had. Kalgalath had reignited the spark in her heart and she couldn’t deny the build of anticipation. She ducked away into a den hiding from eyes that might have recognized her, and she had managed to grab a larger den with space for much more than two... She stopped inside the mouth of the den her honey optics adjusting to the dimmed lighting. She spotted a soft area in the back of the den that would work to rest in, but first she turned back to the mouth of the den. Her ashen bodice rubbed against the outer edges of the den, marking it as taken and occupied. She looked around one last time before letting out a sweet melody calling Kalgalath from the depths of Aurora Borealis. Her crown lowered, her eyes watching for any sight of Kalgalath before she turned into the den and curled into the soft dirt. Her cranium rested on her paws, her golden eyes watching the entrance for the sight of her mottled knight.
"They’re only baby scars," She whispers.
